Sharp Enough to Shut Me Up
Alright look I’ve been cookin for myself for over 30 damn years and I’ve gone through more knife sets than I care to count. Most of em start out sharp and end up cutin like butter knives in a month. But this set actually surprised me. The blades are stupid sharp outta the box and they’re not flimsy junk either. I sliced through a pepper like it was air and the steak knives didn’t tear the meat to shreds like the garbage I had before. The block has this built in sharpener thing which I thought was just a gimmick but it actually keeps the edge pretty decent with a few passes. It comes with everything you’d need from the big chef knife to the little paring one and even some shears that don’t feel like they’re gonna snap in half. They say it’s dishwasher safe but I still wash em by hand cause I don’t trust the machine not to screw up the edge and put rust spots on it. The handles are comfortable too which matters when you’re chopping for 15mins and don’t wanna feel like your fingers went through a war. Only thing that bugs me is the block takes up more space than I thought but whatever it keeps the knives in order and looks better than the drawer full of loose metal. So yeah if you’re tired of dull knives and cheap crap this one might actually be worth the money.

Great Knife Set
This is a great knife set—both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. It’s a 14-piece collection that comes with a wooden block and built-in sharpener. The knives are made from premium Japanese stainless steel and boast a hardness rating of 58±2 HRC, a level typically found in high-end chef knives. This means they offer excellent edgeretention and cutting performance.I’m not certain what type of wood the block is made from, but it appears to be a high-quality hardwood and complements the overall look nicely. These knives are incredibly sharp—sharper than any others I own, and I have quite a few. In fact, they’re so sharp they almost feel like shaving blades, which is impressive, though admittedly a little intimidating for everyday kitchen use.One thing to note: the branding heavily leans into the association with “Japan.” The word appears on the website, the packaging, and even on every individual knife. However, I was unable to find any clear labeling of the country of origin, which is concerning. According to U.S. law, imported products must clearly and permanently indicate their country of origin in English. I searched thoroughly but found no such marking—if it exists, it is certainly not conspicuous. This lack of transparency can raise doubts, and it’s something the marketers and vendors should address. That said, the knife set is currently performing excellently. I’ll need more time to assess its long-term durability and reliability, and I’ll update my review if anything changes. For now, I’m very pleased and happy to recommend it.

beautiful knife set
they are super sharp right out of the box. It's nice that the block holder has a sharpener as well. Has a pretty stainless steel look. Blades are light but feel strong in the hand.

Not a pretty block, but sharp knives
This review is for Huusk Knife Set with Block and Sharpener, 14 Pcs Japanese Stainless Steel Kitchen Knife Sets Dishwasher Safe, Sharp Silver Professional Knives Set with Box for Kitchen, Gifts for Men and Women.Positive(s):- The set comes with every type of knife the average cook will use - a set of steak knives, and one each of a bread knife, chef's knife, paring knife, and three of what I would call all-purpose knives. Kitchen shears and a knife sharpener round out the collection. All are stored in a nicely weighted block.- The knives are as sharp as any I've purchased. Each comes with a tiny sheath for the tip so that the package can be opened safely.- The shape of the handle feels natural in the hand.- The angles of the knives are appropriate for most everyday tasks. The negative(s):- I wish the company name weren't emblazoned on the front. I get marketing and all, but this is large and unattractive for something that's going to be sitting out on the counter. Additionally, it makes it look cheaper than it is.- The set is lightweight. As someone who has a couple of expensive knives that are just too heavy to be used for any length of time, I can appreciate lightweight. But there's a line that's crossed into feeling cheap, and this product crosses that line. This set makes a nice entry level set of knives.

Look before you buy!
Out of the box, the knives look nice but seemed rather light especially for Japanese knives. The box nor the web site states where the items are made but references "Japan Inspired" and "Japanese Craftsmanship" many times. I never heard of Huusk Japan so I did an online search for Huusk and see that they are not a Japanese company at all. The knives are made in China and I really doubt they are quality stainless steel. If something smells like a rotten fish, it probably is a rotten fish. My recommendation is a big No Way.
