These ice cube trays are fantastic! The silicon tray makes it easy to extract the ice cubes which are perfect for drinks. I also use these trays to freeze leftover chicken stock, pasta sauce and rice for later use. Just freeze, then pop out into a freezer zip lock bag for individual use later in the week. No more spoiled/wasted food! I highly recommend these ice cube trays with lids.
I have ordered this ice tray before and was extremely pleased with it. So I ordered another one. Easy to feel, easy to remove, quality of ice. Lovely ice capacity so I don't have to bother a teeny weenie cubes. One cube fits into any glass nicely, keeps the drink cold, melts slowly. Especially like the clamps that keep the water safely from spilling. Just remember not to fill it completely full so the water has room to expand to ice.
I really love the seal & lid on these ice cube trays. It makes transporting the freshly filled trays to the freezer so easy and I've barely spilled any water on my freezer shelves (so no more chipping ice off the shelves once a week). They stack together easily and fit well in our small bottom freezer drawer. The only negative is that almost all the tabs on the lids have cracked and I have pinched my finger when trying to close a lid.
The lids on these are great not just to prevent spilling, but help to keep your ice from picking up odors and flavors from other food. And if you use the trays to freeze something other than ice, like herb bombs or sauces, it works in reverse, and keeps the odor IN. Just keep your ice trays and herb trays separate... No one wants ice that tastes like garlic!I got my first IceTopper tray at a local store, and liked it so much I wanted more. They no longer carried it, so I found it here on Amazon. When my second set of 4 arrived, one of the snap closures broke the first time I used it (I suspect there was a flaw in the plastic that made it weak). I contacted the seller and they shipped me a replacement immediately!They are easy to fill, and forgiving if you overfill them a bit. Even when overfilled, they are easy to remove by giving the whole tray a little twist to release them all. When using them to store sauces or herb bombs, you can release a single cube by pressing the silicone bottom.I will say that my new set can be difficult to open and close the snaps. I can't recall if my first one was like that in the beginning, but I'm hoping they will get easier with frequent use.
I bought two of these over a year ago at local retail store, and they've been by far the best ice cube trays I've ever used.I often go for months at a time without using a single cube. With other trays, by the time I used a cube, my ice would be almost gone and would taste absolutely terrible. Not so with these trays! The sealed lid keeps the ice in and the taste out. I've left ice in these for six months, and the cubes were as good after that as they were on day one.I also love the flexible bottoms, they make extraction of the ice a breeze! I'm never going back to fighting with traditional ice cube trays.I recently discovered the absolute joy of putting ice in the water I take to work, and now I use these trays almost every day, and have been for about six months, and they're still going strong. That's why I decided to purchase a third tray – I kept almost running out of ice – but hopefully now that's a problem of the past.My only complaint is that the lids are a little difficult to operate. I found that if you squeeze the lid down when you open or close the latch, it works much better. This is definitely not a product for anyone who has trouble with grip strength.
Love these ice trays soo much! But have to give less stars because one of the lids came damaged.
I had the older version without silicone and used them until they finally broke. The lids were so nice to have that I wanted to immediately replace my broken ones. I decided to give the silicone version a try. Wow!! I like these even better than my old ones.When filled and lids closed, they do not leak, so these would be great for a car fridge, camper, or semi. The ice cubes are MUCH easier to get out of the trays than the strictly hard plastic version because you can push on the silicone on the bottom and the cubes lift right out! They stack well and don't slide around, which is nice for getting the water level. These are the standard sized cubes I'm used to, not too big or small, which is nice. The lids keep the ice fresh and they're easy to operate.Overall, I'm very glad I bought these and highly recommend them.
