Can’t believe this works so well! How cool!
How cool is this?! I’m a huge espresso fan — can’t get by without a delicious cappuccino in the morning — and this portable espresso device is fantastic. If it could only steam milk, I’d have everything I need on the go for a perfect cappuccino! XDThe Pros:* EXTREMELY PORTABLE, duh. It’s lightweight (and I’m a smol person), I can hold it in one hand easily while it extracts, and the carrying bag it comes with is quite nice with the gold hardware accents + easily holds the portable espresso machine + espresso puck screen + dosing ring + coffee scoop all inside the water chamber! Seriously thoughtful design.* The operation is easy AF. Press once to extract from cold water (with convenient water level marks inside the water chamber), or press twice to extract quickly from water you’ve heated yourself in a kettle (the machine will appear to extract twice, but the first time you hear the pump working, it’s just the pre infusion process). Then just press once more to stop your extraction.* Everything disassembles easily to be cleaned. So simple.* USB-C!! NICE! WE ARE IN THE FUTURE!!* The 51mm basket held 18g of dark roast for me perfectly, and the tamper the device comes with is a SELF LEVELING TAMPER. NO NEED TO PURCHASE EXTRA ACCESSORIES. WHEEEE. :D* There is an app you can download (called HappyGo CERA) which allows you to adjust the temperature + preset extraction times. Amazing! The Only Cons:* Doesn’t froth milk. Lol. Not a deal-breaker, and also not an actual con. Duh, of course it doesn’t. It’s just espresso.* If you’re extracting from hot water instead of allowing the device to heat up before extraction, the water will significantly cool before it hits your coffee.* The included tamper does not fit inside the carrying sleeve.* The needle distributor that comes with the unit is a single needle, and akin to a paperclip.TBH, I could easily forget about all of the cons, because they aren’t REALLY cons at all. If you like espresso, you probably already have everything you need to make transporting this device (and using it) easy-peasy with all the accessories.Pro Tips:* If extracting from hot water, run a blank shot with very hot water through the internals before extraction to preheat the machine, or if you’re pressed for time, use water HOTTER than you normally would in the water chamber.* If traveling, keep a microfiber towel with you to make clean-up super fast and easy. It’ll quickly absorb all of the water in the machine and easily clean your puck-screen, basket, and shower screen with just a wipe.* Make sure you keep a scale nearby. The machine does allow you to program extraction times with the use of the app, but if you’re like me and don’t feel like fiddling with that + prefer a perfectly timed and weighed extraction, a scale is invaluable.* The basket the machine comes with has a helpful “Max Level” line for filling with grounds to make your life easier. So if you don’t feel like weighing out your grams, just throw some pre-ground espresso grounds in an airtight jar or something and scoop it out to that line.* To make carrying this machine extra easy with all included parts, grab yourself a lunch bag size portable electronics & cord carrying bag. It’ll make holding and safely partitioning/padding all the accessories + the machine easy and more transportable. Plus, these types of bags are cheap! I use one for my Aeropress, which I will now be using for this machine instead. :)* Buy a better needle distributor. One of those where the needles retract (for portability’s sake). The needle this device comes with is fine, but also less ideal.Great device. So small. So pretty. Nicely built. Worth the price for espresso on the go. Happy I can get my fix with this little machine!- @eggbunni on IG

Great Espresso On The Go
I love, love, LOVE this!! I got into making espresso at home about a year ago, and traveling has meant bland coffee from gross hotel room brewers, or waiting in line for over-priced and over-extracted big-chain coffee. Yuck! This Ikape Portable is a game changer. Amazingly easy to use and makes remarkably good espresso. Very solid and well made, with all the elements fitting together perfectly. Heats cold water quickly, or gives you the option to use hot water and brew immediately if you can't wait 2.5 minutes. All the accessories are included -- basket, WDT, tamper, puck screen, cleaning brush. But the real value is not having to shell out big bucks on big business coffee when away from home. Nice and compact, I can tuck it into a corner of my carry-on and know I can have a great shot of my favorite beans anytime anywhere. Another Ikape home run!

Espresso On The Go
The IKAPE KAPO K2 Portable Espresso Machine is an excellent option for anyone who wants real espresso on the go. It produces rich, flavorful shots with impressive crema thanks to the 20-bar pressure. The 51mm bottomless basket is a standout feature and allows for great control over extraction, just like a traditional espresso setup. It’s easy to use, heats up quickly, and is perfect for home, travel, or camping. The build quality feels solid, and cleanup is simple. For a portable electric espresso machine, the performance is outstanding. Highly recommended for espresso lovers who don’t want to sacrifice quality while traveling.

Impressive Portable Espresso Maker with Real Shot Control
This Ikape K2 portable espresso maker is one of the most capable travel espresso setups I’ve used, and it feels much closer to a compact semi-automatic machine than a typical portable brewer. The Bluetooth app control is a standout feature. Being able to adjust pre-infusion time and total brew time makes dialing in far easier than push-button-only portables, especially with lighter roasts. That level of control actually translates to better shot consistency, not just a gimmick.Another big plus is that it uses a real espresso basket instead of a proprietary pod system. The version I have includes a 51 mm basket, and I can comfortably run 16 g doses. There is also a 58 mm version available, which is great if you want workflow and basket compatibility closer to a full-size café setup. The built-in heating function is genuinely useful. You can let it heat cold water on its own or add pre-heated water and go straight into brewing. Cleanup is quick and easy as well. I personally use a paper filter on top for clean knockouts, but it does include a puck screen. The only minor downside is the included tamper, which can feel a bit sticky at full compression, though it’s easy to work around.Pair this with a good hand grinder capable of espresso-fine grinds, and you’ve got a very solid travel espresso setup.Overall: highly recommended if you want real espresso control in a portable format without cutting corners on the fundamentals. Worth it 100%

Could it? Would it?
Nah, but very close.First off this is a very good product and will give you a great cup, but the app is crapp and where's the stand? c'mon dude.. cheaping out on a stand is just counterproductive. The app needs work. The parameters are mostly an illusion, because the extraction time goes from 30sec to infinity~ with 10sec increments, meaning forget anything below 30 seconds, and no calibration between 30 and 40.. doesn't that defeat the purpose? It does a good job at showing when the temperature is below the target, and it does a great job at HEATING the water to the desired temp, but I think it's not always accurately showing when the temperature is above the target, which can happen when adding boiling water to the chamber. All in all a satisfactory result, but not at all reaching its potential. I'll look out for their upgrade, giving kudos for pioneering the app on inexpensive travel gear.
