Simple to use and does a great job. Solid build quality and the tension springs are easy to swap out good for daily use. It comes with the resting cup that is small and doesn’t take up much space. Has a solid weight to it with a minimalist design for the price. It does a great job.
Foolproof way to get an even, level, consistent tamp. Functions well and is very lightweight. I’d say 2 thumbs up are in order…
Have a Rancilio Silvia Pro X and was using the tamper that came with it for a while. This IKAPE tamper (58.5mm) is just fantastic (have only used for 1 day, so not sure of longetivity). The tamp is s perfect as I have ever had and no channeling yet. The circular shape on the ground, after tamping, also looks great. Highly recommend, for now. Will update over the next couple of months, as daily average is 5 tamps.
Perform few tests after I received the tamper. The tamper does click as it reach 30lb(?) for couple of tests. After few more presses, the audible indicator disappear. At this point, it is just an ordinary spring loaded tamper, no audible feedback. I disassemble the tamper to investigate but could not fix the problem. I pay for tamper that was advertized as calibrated with sound feedback tamper and ended up with regular spring loaded. Further more, the entire tamper's shaft has too much play, that seems to be 2-3mm side-to-side movement. This affects the level of the coffee puck. It may have to go back. Ikape, please test your product thoroughly before release.
I already have a 25lb tamper but wanted 30lb. First of all, instructions say it comes with 30lb spring installed - but actual measurement gives 15lb and installed spring noticeably less stiff that one of 'replacement' springs. So put in stiffest spring, pressure now measures 22lb, not 30lb (and noticeably less pressure than the one I already have). Returning.
Great tamper. Feels really nice, has a nice weight to it and the click when tamping is cool. Overall it feels like a consistent press every time I make an espresso. I recommend to anyone looking for a nice tamper with the impact click feedback.
Absolutely love this. It ramps perfectly and clicks to let you know you tamped enough. The little curves it makes in the grind is just satisfying. I gave 4 stars only because the outer lip won’t let it fit my portafilter funnel to my Ninja Lux when it is still on the portafilter. I have to take the funnel off to tamp it which is not a very big deal. It still works well and easy to use.
