Since I started grinding my own coffee earlier in the year had been using a small ceramic bowl on my scale to measure beans. Got this instead so I could keep a sort of set of dedicated coffee stuff off to the size.I measure about 15 grams of med-light roasted coffee as my individual serving dose and in this bowl that ends up being almost exactly an amount that results in a flat bed of beans across the top of the bowl. If you dose more per serving, consider getting a larger cup.It looks nice, is easy to hold and use, and its shape lends well to pouring smoothly into the grinder. The spray bottle is 'cute' but generic - it does the job of putting a light mist of water on the beans.
Mist sprayer sprays very finely and uniformly, unlike my previous generic sprayer. The tray with spout work ma for my espresso workflow but would have liked it to be a little more deeper dish bowl as this one is on the shallower side. My daily dose of 17g coffee beans is just enough that it barely spills over the tray.
I use this little dosing kit daily, and I have zero complaints. Very pleased with the quality and look of the wood (so far). Dose maxes out at around 30-32 grams. Curious to see how it holds up over time, being sprayed with water multiple times a day.And the sprayer works exactly as expected. Lets out a good, fine mist every time (see video), unlike ones that I've used from other "brands" that tend to sputter and squirt the first few sprays if you haven't used them in a while. This kit lives on my countertop, and between my pour overs and espressos, gets used multiple times a day. I'll report back if I run into any problems with the doser or the sprayer, but so far, I'm very happy with them both.
Nice quality but bean control is limited. You’ll spill all the time.
Very sleek and easy to use!
This kit is a nice addition to my daily coffee-making routine. The dosing cup, made from attractive real wood, adds a touch of elegance. It holds 20 grams of my beans, which is my typical dose, though it can accommodate slightly more with careful handling. While I do wish the cup were a tad larger to prevent occasional spillage when filling it to capacity, it’s only a minor inconvenience. Compared to the paper cups I used previously, this wooden cup is a substantial upgrade that I now use every single morning. The kit also includes a spray bottle, which I've tested and can confirm works as intended. Its primary purpose is to reduce static electricity that often causes coffee fines to scatter around the grinder and counter. If your grinder has an issue with static, this spray bottle offers a good solution. You simply lightly spray your beans in the cup before you dump them into your grinder. It provides much better control than my old method of manually adding a drop of water to the beans.Interestingly, I've recently acquired a grinder with an effective anti-static feature, which has eliminated my need for the spray bottle in my daily routine. However, for coffee enthusiasts dealing with static electricity problems in their grinding process, this spray bottle would be an excellent tool to have on hand.Overall, this dosing cup and spray bottle is an excellent addition to my setup. The well-crafted dosing cup enhances the coffee prep experience. Despite the minor size limitation of the cup, the quality and functionality make it worthwhile for coffee lovers, like me.
