Creative but Porous

I like the placemats and the idea of creating placemats from impressionist paintings is fun. On the downside, the placemats are porous so they don't protect the table from liquid spills. Also the Monet copies are much more gray and dark turquoise than the photo on Amazon--REALLY early sunrise rather than bright dawn. A silver placemat under each of them helps with both issues. The effect of the porous surface looks like canvas, so I give them an extra star for artistic creativity, but not for practicality. The VanGogh placemats are true to color but still porous.

Super disappointed. The picture of the houses and flowers looked so bright and pretty, but it came in looking like a pixelated stormy day. I'm so bummed because I wanted them so much to be like the ones listed. The picture doesn't even do it justice, because the packaging that I didn't even open is shiny. They are very dark blurry and depressing
