Nice concept, poor execution

From a few feet away, the bowl and base look nice. The bowl has good volume capacity, is low and wide with a flat bottom. The fluting of the glass is nice and the bamboo stand gives it an elevated appearance. However, there are many flaws. While the fluting gives the impression of solid, sturdy glass, it is actually quite thin and feels fragile. There are imperfections in the glass, including an area along the rim that seems either chipped or malformed. It is rough and a little sharp in that spot. The bamboo base doesn't sit fully flat so much so that for a minute, I thought maybe it was designed to spin. But no, it isn't and the only reason it spins so easily is because where the bamboo crosses on the bottom the wood isn't level. It'll serve well enough for a fruit bowl, but I wouldn't use it for more than a display due to its fragility. If I had paid for it, I would likely return it.
