Was very surprised by this knife.
Hello. I was pleasantly surprised by this knife. I've been a professional chef for about 12 years and I am used to spending hundreds of dollars for a single knife. I will admit that I bought this knife on a whim, almost as a joke. I didn't think that it would be quality for the price and just assumed it would be a utility knife at best. I was wrong. It's crazy sharp, balanced, feels great in hand, and we'll constructed. It has become my main knife at work. Also, I'm an Army Veteran and I love the military/tactical look. Great product. Probably gonna buy a few more. Thanks.

Tacticool Chef knife that does the job perfectly
I wanted to buy a new chef knife for work that would fit in my tool kit better since I do a lot of off premise catering. I came across DFackto a while ago through social media advertising and thought it looked pretty cool but was skeptical because it looked "too" cool. I do enjoy the "tacticool" look though and it fits my personality in the kitchen since I'm the only veteran at my job. Bottom line on the knife, it comes out of the box fairly sharp, but after a few swipes on a honing steel, this thing easily gives you translucent slices on tomatoes and limes. It's pretty solid and hefty as well. I have no fear about being gentle with this knife like I do with my expensive Japanese blades. The protective sheath it comes with is top notch and does the job too. I only wish it came in a 9inch or 10inch blade option for my normal use, but the 8inch size is actually perfect for my travel and off premise job needs. For under $50 USD this knife is a solid buy and that is this professional's absolute opinion.

Love it!
We had to purchase some new knives to butcher and process chickens. I decided to take this opportunity to buy one just for me. It was in the same price range as the “gold standard” knife for entry-level chicken processing but definitely had a ‘kick butt’ vibe those knives don’t.Result: I LOVE IT!!! It did not slip around in my hand like the other knives do even when my hand got covered in blood and offal; never once did I feel like I just barely missed slicing myself because the thing twisted on me. I didn’t even have to keep a death grip on it. And it kept its edge longer than the other knives. When you are processing 150+ birds, no matter the knife, you have to sharpen it mid stream. But I had to sharpen this knife less than half as often as my husband had to sharpen his knife. It sliced through joints with ease, and always went where I intended it to go. It was awesome.I definitely recommend this knife. Seldom do you find aesthetics and function come together this perfectly at such an affordable price point. Are there better knives out there? Almost certainly, but probably not for this low a cost.

Disappointing
I went to clean it before using it for the first time, and black from the finish presumably just kept coming off no matter how much I wiped. The finish is a little splotchy looking now. Despite the statements on this page, it really isn't all that sharp out of the box. I was not impressed as it struggled to cut through green onions in its first use. Unfortunately, I tossed the box it came in when it first arrived before I had a chance to try it out. The box was quite sturdy and impressive, more so than the knife itself. I can already see myself donating it somewhere in the near future.
