I just had to write a review: this board is SO BEAUTIFUL, the colors are very contrasting and there is even a bit of a luster within the wood! Not only that, it's also sturdy, sizeable, and comes with clear instructions to care for it. I was looking all over Amazon for a good board and a lot of the other ones had me worried or doubtful. I struck gold with this one. :) Super high quality and definitely recommend.
I am in love with this Cutting Board. Unfortunately the color is very different than displayed. It is a lot lighter in reality and the color is the same throughout but it is beautiful.It is so beautiful that I haven't cut anything on it because I wanted to keep it looking the way it arrived. I just look at it and feel happy that I have such a piece of art in my kitchen. The size is just right for preparing cocktails, cutting up fruits, muddling some herbs and getting everything ready.
I bought this for a new home, and had it less than 5 months. Now it is breaking among the glued wood panels for no apparent reason. It looks nice but for how little we have used it I would not recommend it at all. It does not hold up, we use this board very rarely, to preserve it, and hardly rinse it at all, so I don't understand how this could have happened.
This is a good, aesthetically pleasing cutting board which has a few minor flaws. One is that the board is a bit on the small / narrow side. The dimensions listed are accurate but this board is not quite big enough to handle large cutting jobs and it's a little too big and inconvenient for small jobs. I use it mostly as a serving board for charcuterie and as a backup board if the large board I use needs more space.The edges of the board are also tapered and rounded. While I think this looks good, it's not great for maximizing the surface area that can be used for cutting.The hole in the corner is a good idea if you have a hook or other such rack to hang it from.Overall, I don't regret buying it but would rather it was bigger (or smaller) and flatter. In my opinion, it's a "baby bear" board but I was looking for a "mama" and "papa".
This cutting board is fairly thick and made of beautiful wood. I use these primarily for serving meats, cheeses, veggies, crackers, bread, or anything that could benefit from some "rustic" presentation. Works great as a cutting board and a serving tray (often both simultaneously) and I highly recommend this product. It pairs perfectly with with the Ironwood Gourmet pizza peel.
Under "Features" the size is listed as 20 x 14 x 1.25 inch. Under dimensions they are listed as 18 x 10 x .8. The dimensions measurements are the correct numbers. I was expecting the "features" size and am wondering why there would be 2 sizes listed. Disappointing.
The cutting board arrived promptly and is beautiful but was splintering upon first use. I could feel and see small pieces of wood shedding from it, which is concerning as I do not want that in my food.
