i got this Under Cabinet Jar Opener because I was starting to struggle with factory sealed jars, and it has been a huge relief. It is such a simple design, basically just a V-shaped grip with teeth, but it works exactly as advertised.The best feature is that it mounts underneath your upper cabinets. It is completely hidden from view and doesn't take up any precious drawer space. You just slide the jar into the wedge until it locks and twist. It holds the lid tight so you can use two hands on the jar if you need to, or just one.Installation was pretty easy. It comes with a sticky pad to position it, but I highly recommend using the screws that come with it. The adhesive alone might not hold up against a really stubborn pickle jar over time. A wonderful help in the kitchen.
I used to have something like this that was attached to an under cabinet mounted can opener. When I removed the can opener, I didn’t realize how much I was going to miss the jar opener. I figured I’d just buy some other contraption and it would take the same place of it. Well, I can honestly say that nothing has taken the place of that under cabinet mounted jar opener.When I saw this, I was so excited because I recognized the design. I found that there are a few interesting little tricks that make this easier to use. Mount it in a place where you can kind of use your weight to firmly push the jar lid into the V that is going to grip the lid. This makes it easier to twist the lid because you have the added benefit of weight to push it in place.Another thing I really like about this is that it is virtually invisible when it is mounted. It just makes one less thing to visually clutter the kitchen. And it also eliminates the need for all of those handheld failed inventions that take up space in the drawer. They’re simply not needed anymore with this.You don’t have to be a senior to appreciate this. It’s simply not that easy to open well sealed jars for anyone. I’ve seen younger men struggle with it so don’t be put off by the description that this is for seniors. This will benefit anyone who opens jars.
