Great Look & Feel
I was surprised by how small the box was that supposedly had three knives in it. However, all three were in there and they were even a little bit larger than I expected.The build quality looks really good. Full tang is the only way to go. They feel really durable. The finish is unique compared with any other kitchen knife I have ever owned. I will need to use them for a while to see how the finish holds up over time. The machined edges all seem sharp enough out of the box, but I will be running them through my sharpener for an even sharper edge. Just above the edge are some designs showing outlines of buildings. It isn't etched, so I'm curious if it wears off over time. The rest of the body of the blade is textured and colored in a really attractive way, but I am going to need some more time using them to see how those details hold up to wear. I will follow up either way and hopefully with the good news that I am not rubbing the decorative parts of the blade off into my food!I was hoping to get some sort of storage for the knives, but they come just in the box, with some plastic point covers and paper sheaths. Nothing in the posting suggests any storage, so there shouldn't be any expectations for it. It just would have been a fun surprise.Overall, I'm very pleased with these knives and I am looking forward to chopping things up with them!

Not sure how I feel about these knives. I wasn't a fan of the style originally but my hubby wanted them. And him being the literal chef of the family who was I to argue that. I found these to be awkward to hold and don't tend to use them unless i have to but he uses these knives all the time and likes them. The set we received seem to be quite sharp and we have not had any issues with them being dull so far and have actually had quite the opposite experience. It definitely didn't have any problems slicing my finger to the bone as if it were just a stick of butter when i brushed my finger against the blade by mistake. I'm not a fan of the style or look of these knives but my husband likes them so I would say they seem to be a decent set. But it really depends on your tastes I suppose.

2 of 3 are very sharp. the third, sorta sharp
The blades look very nice. The forbidden city etching is nice & clear. The hammmered look is cool. They are very attractive blades.The rivets in the handle are ok. The shaping isn't great. Some of the rivet edges protrude noticably above the wood. Its not terrible, but its clearly not a high end knife.Now lets talk about the primary purpose of a knife. Cutting stuff. Two of the blades are very sharp. The other blade is not as sharp. The first thing I did as I pulled them out of the package is run my finger across the edge. I immediately noticed a difference. Two of them easily cut paper. The third will sometimes cut paper if I'm careful how I hold it and do it just right.But we have to grade on a curve. For the price, these are very good.
