Great for setting up your mis en place.
I know this set is typically used for serving appetizers and condiments, but I immediately thought of a different use when I saw it: setting up my mis en place when cooking with a lot of ingredients.I do all of my food prep on a commercial kitchen prep cart. The cart has many advantages, but the biggest one is taking all the abuse of cooking, so my granite counter tops stay like new. It does limit my workspace, however. To help with that, I use this set of small dishes and wooden tray to hold my seasonings and other ingredients. It keeps them organized and contained. By pre-measuring everything, I reduce errors, the dish comes together more quickly, and it makes trying new recipes less stressful.Each of the small glass dishes holds two tablespoons of dry ingredients, or 38 ml (right to the brim) of liquid. That’s a pretty good amount for most recipes, such as the dry rub I was making. With nine dishes, you can always use more than one dish for an ingredient, if needed. The tray makes it easy to move all of the dishes to the cooking area, whether it be a stove top, grill, or other appliance.I wash the dishes by hand. They’re so small, it only takes a minute. They could be washed in a dishwasher that has a third rack for small items, but I think a whole dishwasher cycle for something this small is a bit of overkill. The tray wipes clean with a damp cloth.

They all fit perfectly when aligned, the bowls are quite small but this would be perfect for a lineup of sauces or small snacks. The bowls can also be used individually without the tray if desired. The bowls are good quality, easy to clean and a durable clear glass. The tray itself is also easy to wipe down or potentially wash if needed you will just have to dry appropriately. Overall, it is smaller than I expected but I still like it and plan to use it often while hosting. I included an ornament in my photo to help provide scale of the bowls.

Much Smaller Than Expected — Photos Are Misleading
These bowls are much smaller than they appear in the listing photos. I would have passed on them had I realized just how tiny they are. While they’re well made and nicely presented with the wooden tray, the size limits their usefulness unless you specifically need very small portion bowls for spices, for instance. The photos definitely make them look larger than they are, which was disappointing.

this serving set is so cute. I decided to do a grilled cheese night for my birthday and for snacks I did a little charcuterie. these bowls made it so cute and easy to organize small quantities of food and dips. I love having little ramekins at home!! I'm excited to use these as they may assist my assistant chef in learning how to separate his spices and have the measurements at the ready. Originally, I thought they were a bit bigger but when I saw them nicely packed and wrapped up on the tray, I fell in love with them. These are an exact size for any budding chef to have or for the regular homemaker like me to use. I'm already envisioning all the baked goods and pots of food that will be getting pinches and dollops of things in these. I absolutely adore the size and the fact that the bamboo tray will allow easily carrying the condiments from one side of the room to another without any spilling is a huge plus.

Works great for its intended purpose but can be used in other ways
Works great for its intended purpose serving small, snack-sized portions. It’s also nice for separating toppings for desserts like ice cream, cookies, and cupcakes.I use mine in my charm bracelet bar to separate charms and beads, and it’s also helpful for organizing art supplies. It’s beautiful enough to leave out and even works as a jewelry display tray. Storage is easy since it doesn’t take up much space.I did underestimate the size, as the bowls are fairly small, so I mostly use it for markets instead of entertaining guests but it’s been perfect for that!
