Great tea dispenser

These work great for tea, you can stir the tea, and squeeze out the excess water.

Not perfect, but still pretty neat

I just got this last night and put it to good use. We're still out of power due to hurricane Sandy, and since I only have gas now, I just have been making tea when I get home from work, and go to bed. This product has its ups and downs, but no cons right off the bat will make for an emotionally shattering experience. Here are my observations:1. I like the plunger idea, it beats the little tea ball on the chain that I have since the tea ball I have to dangle it above the tea for a good couple of minutes to drain it, and those are too hot to open up right out of the brew to empty out. The plunger makes it empty out most of the liquid, and makes it easy to discard the tea leaves after.2. As stated in another review, the top of the plunger does pop off, and I can see a few people losing it if you keep it sticking out of your pocket, but it doesn't affect the functionality of the infuser. Like I said, not emotionally shattering, unless you're OCD about keeping it on. If that's the case, just gorilla glue it on and you'll never have to worry about it again.3. One con I have is more of nitpicking than anything, and that's due to only having one side as a fine mesh, and one side as plastic holes. The plastic hole side tends to let a lot of grinds escape, so you will get sediment on the bottom, but that's more of a complaint about not having a completely clear sediment-free liquid. If you have gunpowder green tea, or tea pearls, anything where the leaves are rolled and knotted, they don't nearly have as much sediment escaping, but I definitely wouldn't recommend this infuser with a roobios tea, all those needles will fly all over the place, you might as well not have an infuser at all at that point. One thing I would change is having the one solid side with the holes in the plastic, as a solid mesh side, so that both sides have it, and there would be a lot less tea floating around once you remove the infuser. All in all, those are little things to complain about. I just used it for the second time as I'm writing this, and I find no issues as far as functionality goes, but as I said, if you tend to nitpick about infusers letting off tea grinds, I'd say just cut your losses and get 100 packs of tea bags from adagio.com, $3 a pack can't go wrong, and cheaper than the $5 pack from Teavana.

My favorite infuser. Lengthy review incoming

Stirring it like a spoon with this infuser is somehow loads more satisfying than dunking a teabag in it. And it's especially awesome and satisfying to easily squeeze out your teabag/tea leaves with the stem. Some reviewers are complaining that the tea leaves can get through the holes, but I completely disagree. I've used both tea bags and tea leaves of various sizes in this infuser and I've had zero problems. The holes (on both sides) are very small, and the perfect size to let liquid in and out without letting leaves come out with it.You can't see it from the pictures, but there are holes on the other side as well. The part that opens, which you see in the photos, is a metallic mesh. The other side is made of the same plastic that you see in the picture, but it has tiny holes in it. The holes on the back are definitely larger than the mesh on the front/opening, but definitely NOT too large, as some reviewers have indicated. Perhaps if you have VERY VERY fine tea leaves, it could maybe get through, but for all of the teas I use, it isn't a problem. The opening opens and closes easily enough, but not so easily that it will open while brewing. You can easily pop the lid with your thumb, but it doesn't fall open on its own. It's easy to clean it, even when using tea leaves instead of a bag. There's nowhere for the leaves to get stuck or anything like that. Cleans extremely easily.Every single time I've used this infuser, it brewed to perfection.

Great Idea, but a bit flimsy

Great Idea, but a bit flimsy. I love the plunger it’s a great way to get all the flavor out of the leaves. However the lid that opens keeps popping off when I open the infuser. It goes back on, but with the constant movement I’m sure they will not last long.
