Gorgeous Aluminum K-Cup Display Turns Smoothly, as Advertised. But Is It Meant for a Cafeteria?
First of all, I love the look of silver aluminum. So if I ran a huge cafeteria in a law firm, I would definitely buy one of these for each coffee counter.But in a small kitchen, this 40-cup Keurig dispenser could dominate a counter you need for something else.Mind you, I’m not practical-minded enough when it comes to this spinning rack. I could live happily in a kitchen that was entirely decked out in silver. So even in my tiny kitchen, I’ve found a space for the Axbima.But the girth and limited functionality of this whirlyrack does seem to point to primary use in a diner, office kitchen, cafeteria or *really extensive* Martha Graham-sized kitchen — the kind we see in home decorator shows.So how does this massive organizer fare on the tiny counter to the left of my stove?In photos, the cutouts for K-cups look like they might actually cut, but don’t worry — the edges aren’t sharp. There’s no inside holder for each cup, which seems precarious, but it isn’t. You simply press the cup all the way into its extended lip and it will stay put at any angle.A more space-conscious solution to extra cup storage is to buy a pair of plastic cup organizer rows in the color of your Keurig machine and superglue them on one side. I’ve done that with my mint-coloured Keurig and cup holder rows.But, together, they’re only going to hold a total of 10 cups. And if you buy huge boxes of organic coffee K-cups from a certain low-cost store, as I do, then you might need a higher capacity storage solution.In which case the Axbima definitely is a more manageable size than that two-handed box of cups you’ve bought from you know where.So here’s my verdict:As a standalone K-cup organizer, I’d give this sturdy, beautiful rack five stars.But without knowing your kitchen size and the amount of space you require, I can’t promise the Axbima will work for you.The amount of stars *you’d* give this rack for your own use case is what matters. So measure your counter and consider your options before you buy.
