Recently attended a wine tasting seminar. They said that the champagne glasses with the white tops were better for experiencing the full flavor of a champagne. I guess throughout Europe that’s what they use rather than flutes. So I thought I’d try these two and I’m really glad I did. They’re very pretty and the whole just enough champagne.
The holidays are a great time to enjoy bubbly, but how likely is it a guest will oops! your stemware? Uh, good chance you’re gonna experience attrition.Champagne coupé goblets are kinda hard to source!These are crystal and have a mercifully short stem. Breakage is far more likey with each additional centimeter of height.Choose these for the shorter stems, crystal clinks, and price. Recommended.
The crystal designation must be what qualifies the price of this set, because $50 is a lot for two glasses. They are pretty, especially the tall and distinctive stems. However, as a margarita glass, these fall short. It does list that it holds 6.7 oz, which I didn't realize is a minuscule amount. Guests would not enjoy a drink this tiny. Perhaps save it for the friend who nurses their drink all night and likes to hold a pretty glass.
These little cocktail/dessert glasses brought a bit of fun to my weekend... They have that classic short stem look that works for sundaes, mousse, or a fancy mixed drink. I used them first for strawberry ice cream with whipped cream, and they made dessert feel like it was from a restaurant. Later I tried them with cocktails an old fashioned and then a little gin mix and they worked beautifully. The 10oz size is generous but not oversized to be over the top either. They feel solid when you hold them, and the crystal clarity gives them an upscale feel.I like that they’re multipurpose. One night they’re dessert bowls, the next night they’re drinkware. Washing them was simple too no water spots or dulling after a few cycles in the dishwasher.They’re the kind of glasses that make you want to plan a get-together just so you can show them off, truly.
