Cute, but eh construction and value
Overall, this is a good lunch bag! It's a nice comfortable size, is thin but keeps temperature well, and is overall a great functional piece. It's lightweight, and appears that it will be fairly durable. However, I will subtract a star for construction and design, as those take this product from great value to mediocre at best.To start, the aesthetics of the photos are off vs how the bag looks in real life -- the pictures show the bag as darker and redder than it actually is. To me, the bag looked like a cute pale peachy/yellow color in the photos, but in real life it was more of a pale tan. The handle also looks a bit different in real life than it does in the pictures. In real life, it's a bright salmon pink, and matches the light parts of the strawberries more than the dark parts. It is MUCH lighter than it looks in the photos. As someone who despises salmon pink, I feel that this is an important thing to point out.Additionally, the craftsmanship isn't incredible. The stitching across the top of the bag is very uneven, and threads are poking out of the seams on the side of the bag. I still think this will have good longevity as it is quite sturdy overall, but if I'm putting down this type of cash for a lunch box I expect it to not have such flaws.Overall, it's a good lunch box, but with the aesthetic mismatch between the pictures and irl, the mediocre construction quality, and the price, I would say that the value isn't too great. The reason I get designer vs something from t*rget is for the quality and aesthetics, and this disappointed me on both fronts. I'll try to stop my personal biases from affecting things too much though, and only subtract one star because this is overall a good product besides these issues.

Cute, versatile, strawberry tote. Strong smell. Logo needs red background. Needs better handles.
I’m kind of a collector of things with a strawberry theme, so when I saw this kate spade new york Strawberry Lunch Bag, I knew I had to get it. I originally intended to use it as a travel makeup bag or maybe even a whimsical summer purse, but now that I have it in hand, I’m not entirely sure which use fits it best.* Style & Appearance: The design is undeniably charming at first glance, with bright red strawberries against an off-white background. However, the off-white areas have visible speckles that look more like flecks in vanilla bean ice cream than a clean background. Instead of adding texture, the effect comes across as slightly dirty from a distance. The shape is boxy and modern, and the overall look is fun.* Color & Print Quality: The strawberry print is vibrant and cheerful, and the colors are well-saturated. The red tones are pretty shades and not overly bright. The logo is nicely printed, but it would have stood out more if it had been on a separate red leather patch instead of directly printed onto the bag’s surface.* Handles & Hardware: The fabric handles are functional but feel like a cost-saving choice. Leather or faux leather handles would have elevated the look significantly. The zipper feels sturdy, although it is slightly stiff and doesn’t glide easily around the bag’s corners.* Interior & Functionality: The interior lining is a shiny silver thermal film, but it is quite thin and lightly padded. It may keep food cool for a short lunch outing but isn’t insulated enough for extended use. For travel or organizing makeup and vitamins, it should perform well. There are small side snaps for adjusting shape or expansion, but they are not symmetrical, which is unusual.* Material & Construction: The polyester exterior feels smooth and well-stitched, with no loose threads or gaps in the seams. The structure holds its shape well thanks to the reinforced base. Still, the combination of the fabric handles and light insulation makes it feel more casual than really luxe as I had hoped (I mean, aren't we all hoping this could double as a purse?).* Smell & Sensory Details: The bag arrived with a super-strong chemical odor inside, likely from the insulated lining. It should dissipate after airing out for a few days, but the initial smell is still quite noticeable.* Size & Capacity: The dimensions (approximately 9 x 4.5 x 10 inches) means it's a good size and has a lot of storage space for your lunch or whatever you're carrying around. It easily accommodates lunch containers, snacks, and a drink, or full-size toiletry bottles if used for travel. It’s roomy but still compact enough to fit into a tote or carry-on bag. It's also lightweight and easy to manage with a laptop case or whatever else you're toting around.* Durability: The outer material appears durable enough for everyday use. The zipper and seams feel secure, though the thin lining may be prone to small punctures or tears over time if used for heavier items.* Versatility: While marketed as a lunch tote, you could easily also use it as a travel organizer, car bag, or seasonal accessory. Of course, its strawberry print makes it more of a casual piece than something suitable for work or dressier outings.* Care & Maintenance: The interior can be wiped clean out with a damp cloth and some dish soap, and the exterior should spot-clean without a problem. It’s not machine washable unfortunately. If the odor doesn't go away soon, though, I'm going to get pretty aggressive in giving it a good clean.* Value for the Cost: At 36.00 (at the time of writing), it feels kind of overpriced given the level of materials and finish but the kate spade brand carries a lot of weight. The design concept is delightful, but the execution doesn’t fully meet what you might expect from a branded product.* Bottom Line: This is a really cute, roomy lunch bag with a fun strawberry print and solid construction. There are some design choices that they could tweak to push it up to truly premium quality like you'd expect from such a great, iconic brand. For fans of kate spade or strawberry-themed accessories, it’s still a really super-fun day-to-day semi-insulated tote. Recommended.
