KINGSTONE 20 Piece Silverware Set w/ Waterdrop Storage: Beautiful Design, Thoughtful Concept, But..
I truly wanted to give this five stars. What drew me to it was the idea that the teardrop could be both art and storage. As a minimalist preparing for tiny-home living, every item I keep has to earn its place from multiple angles—and the idea of flatware and sculpture being one and the same felt promising. At its core, the water-drop is genuinely beautiful. It reads as a standalone sculptural object that happens, almost slyly, to function as a flatware caddy. On a table or counter, it looks intentional and refined rather than utilitarian, which I love. Inside, the black walnut interior paired with the mirror-polished stainless steel feels elegant and carefully considered. The flatware itself is solid and well made, with a satisfying weight. The spoons are excellent—comfortable, balanced, and well-proportioned. The knives are perfectly fine and align nicely with the minimalist aesthetic. My one hesitation is the fork shape at the tine end; while I love the clean handles, the fork profile feels a bit boxy for my taste. Because of that, I’d rate the cutlery itself a 4 out of 5.Where I feel conflicted is the value and everyday functionality. The original $250 price point, at the time of review $199, makes sense only if you view the water-drop capsule as a functional piece of art—which, to be fair, it is. However, once I realized that a 65-piece flatware set in the same minimalist style is currently available for under $100, it becomes clear that much of the premium is for the sculptural storage piece. That’s fine—as long as buyers understand that going in.Functionally, the capsule requires intentional, almost meticulous loading. The walnut interior has specific cutouts for each utensil type, and if everything isn’t placed just right, it doesn’t fit, and the visual harmony is lost. The interior presentation feels just as curated as the exterior, which left me wondering when I’d actually display it this way. For a formal dinner, I’d set the table traditionally. For a casual or buffet-style gathering, offering four full place settings in the teardrop vessel doesn’t quite fit either. It starts to feel like the interior display is more about the unboxing experience than daily use—especially since the cutlery itself is affordable enough that I’d happily use it every day.If this capsule could nest and store full table settings for 8–12 people, I’d be completely sold. I could have service for 4 in my drawer and the rest tucked away in my sculpture to casually pull out when I expectedly of unexpectedly had more guests. That said, I genuinely appreciate what the designers were aiming for: blending utility with art. They came very close. This is a beautiful concept, a thoughtful gift, and a real conversation piece—especially for someone who values presentation, gifting experience, and meticulous storage. For everyday use, though, I’d choose the larger flatware set on its own for the lesser price tag.Overall, this is a well-crafted and visually striking piece that will delight the right person. I’ll enjoy it for now—but I know it won’t ultimately make the cut for my tiny-home lifestyle.

Heavy Metal for the Dinner Table
I decided it was time to upgrade the mismatched forks and spoons we’ve been using for years, especially since my daughters are getting older and we’re having more "proper" sit-down meals. I went with this Kingstone set and gave it five stars because the quality of the steel is immediately apparent the second you pick a piece up. These aren't those flimsy, stamped-out pieces of metal you find at a big-box store. They have a real heft to them that feels right in a man’s hand. The forged stainless steel has a mirror finish that looks sharp, and they don't bend when you're digging into a tough steak or frozen ice cream. Even Joy, our Maltipoo, seemed curious about the new additions to the kitchen, though she obviously sticks to her own bowl. The standout feature of this set is the storage organizer. It has a unique shape that looks exactly like a giant Hershey’s Kiss sitting on the counter. It’s a clever way to keep everything contained without taking up a massive amount of drawer space. My girls actually think it looks pretty cool, which is a win in my book. The value for the money is solid because you're getting twenty pieces of heavy-duty flatware plus a specialized storage container for a price that doesn't break the bank. You can tell this stuff is built to last another twenty years. My only real dislike is that the mirror polish shows fingerprints almost instantly. If you’re a stickler for a spotless look, you’ll find yourself wiping them down more than you’d like. Also, the Hershey's Kiss organizer is a bit of a conversation piece, which might not be everyone's style if you prefer a traditional, hidden silverware drawer. However, for a set that feels this durable and looks this distinctive on the counter, it’s a great investment for the house. It’s a complete, high-quality package that upgraded our kitchen overnight.
