Pans
This is a set of pots and pans. I searched the box twice hoping to find limits and warnings. No paperwork inside the box at all.A quick Google search gave me some info. They are not dishwasher safe (except a few made specifically to be dishwasher sdae and im struggling to find which ones) but can be put in the oven up to 350°.They come in a cardboard box that isn't even brand labeled let alone give any real info.I ordered these through the vine program specifically for the pots. I cook almost exclusively in cast iron. But there are a few items that I need a pot. Like pasta, orzo, piloff, etc.I'd love to be able to find out if it's the handles that limit oven temp. I'd leave the handle off the large skillet to be able to have it under the broiler if I knew I could. In general, this is an excellent starter set. It's lightweight. Pretty to look at. Says it's non toxic. Large enough to feed a family. I have 3 teenagers in the house and I could easily use this set to feed everyone. Comes with 3 lids, 5 pans, a label, and tongs. A lid will fit every pot exepy the large chicken fryer. (I grew up calling deep frying pans a chicken fryer and have no desire to correct myself) I would have preferred a lid for each pan.The set even came with a Phillips screwdriver to put the handles on.My opinion of this set varies depending on who asks. Just trying to be honest. I'd you're just starting out in your own home or you don't like to cook or you just don't have time to cook, this set is probably better than what you need. It's inexpensive. Stacks into a neat an compact pile. Will store easily. On the other hand. If you make homemade meals daily. If cooking is a hobby. If you're a food snob. These will not make you happy. They are not heavy bottomed. The screw on handles will loosen over time and be a PIA. The handles on the lids already annoy me.Update. My adult daughter told me I was too judgemental when reviewing these pans. So tonight I put away my cast iron and only used these. I made venison stew over mashed potatoes with a side of creamed spinach and dinner rolls. I used the smaller frying pan to bake the dinner rolls, took off the handle just in case. To be fair, other than searing the meat as much as I like, these pans did well. I usually heat my pan until the oil begins to smoke a little before I add red meat. I couldn't do that with these so it took longer to brown.Clean up was a breeze. They wipe clean as easily as my well seasoned iron. They do not hold heat after the burner is turned off. I'm very used to liquids continuing to boil after i turn them off. And I had to change my cooking style and utensils because I didn't wanna scratch any of them.
