This is a nice and very durable knife sharpener. It has a nice weight and is made of a good quality steel. It's very easy to use. Just run the edge of the knife across the rod a few times on each side. It really works. The non-slip handle makes this sharpener safer to use. This is a lot easier to use than our electric sharpener. This will probably sharpen any kind of blade. It has a hole in the handle, so you can hang it for easy storage and retrieval. It's very cost effective, so you won't break the bank getting one. This is a simple utensil that is very convenient to have. I definitely recommend this product.

Small, but it Works Well
This honing rod is well made with a fine grit on the rod and a nicely formed handle. The rod itself is rather short, which makes it a bit more dangerous to use, and the finger guard is also very small, so I do wish they had made one or the other much larger, though both would have been preferable. That said, the rod does a good job to hone my blades. (This rod is not actually meant to sharpen your blades, for those who are not familiar with them, instead it simply re-aligns the edge that's already in place to help the blade from going dull. It's a tune up, not an actual sharpener.)All that said, for the low price this rod is on offer for, I think it's a great value and does a really good job and honing the edge of my knives. Recommended.

Fantastic knife sharpener
This is super easy to use, just slide the blade down the rod in one direction. It’s lightweight and simple to handle. Doesn’t take up much room in the drawer. Quality build feels durable. I sharpened multiple knives and a pair of scissors. Sharpens quickly. Washes well. It works better than the other style I have that sticks to the counter; this version is very handy and I reach for it often. Last picture compares the two; this rod style I prefer.

Quality Honing Rod
Here on the ranch, we use knives a lot on a daily basis, and anyone who uses knives knows that unless a knife is sharp, it's both useless and dangerous. Great little steel
This sharpening steel is shorter than most at 8” but works very well. I tried it on theee different knives of differing hardness steels and on each it turned the edge in just a few strokes and produced a notable improved edge. Keep in mind that a steel like this isn’t meant for removing metal as in true sharpening but instead for honing the existing edge. In other words, it won’t sharpen a dull knife but will restore the edge on a knife that’s not quite sharp enough. This is a great deal at $8.99 (at time of this review) and I'm very happy with it.

This is an old fashioned sharpening rod, with an overall length of just over 1 foot, the actual metal section is 8 inches. The handle is very comfortable, plus it has a hole in the center so you can hang it with either a loop or on a hook. The bottom of the metal part has a kind of circular shield that protects you hand from the item being sharpened. The seller notes that it has a chrome finishes which makes cleaning very easy, just wipe with a damp cloth... Even though this is not a huge sharpener, it seems really solid.. Sharpening a knife using a rod is a skill. I had to look at some videos, and I am glad I did. This sharpening rod was a real bargain.. It is a great item to use if you are trying to learn how to do it right. I tried on an older kitchen knife and didn't have a problem. Overall, I am really thrilled with this.

I needed a good basic knife sharpener to maintain the blades on my pocket knives. Wifey wasn’t happy about me constantly taking the one from her kitchen butcher block, so this fits the need perfectly. I find these sharpening rods to be much faster and easier to use than the electric grinding stone types. I’m sure there are other better methods to get the ultimate razor-sharp edge, but this one works well for me and is super quick and easy.
