Update Year Later, Love it! Really impressed

Update: I've owned it a year now, still on original batteries (surprised me), it still works great. I still get a little annoyed with how slow it it, but might be time for new batteries. Once in a blue moon the circle is not completely cut, but that's on me as I control when to stop it, to reverse. No issuese removing lid, very smooth. Love it. Original review: I'm pleasantly surprised. It does a great job! Very smooth, safe cut. Who knew? That said, it is much slower than a standard electric can opener, and you have no idea where it's cutting. Now I started on the first letter on the product's label, and pay attention to when the circle is complete. Press the "on" button a second time and it goes backwards for a few seconds. Done! Use the attached magnet to pull off the lid. I'm thinking of buying a second one. Also, I very much like that it uses standard batteries, nothing weird to look for. Well done!

Easy to use without any effort

Needed a small space electric opener to help with opening cans due to arthritis. Manual ones were difficult to use. This fits in the palm of your hand and is easy to attach to can. It opens regular size cans easily, although it is a bit slow. The one can it didn't work well on was Fancy Feast Cat Food cans. Seems to leave a sliver of metal on the edge, very tiny but of concern. Contacted customer service and they were excellent - quick responses and very helpful at working with me to see if it was just the fancy feast can or the opener. Seems that those two just don't work well together. They even sent me a second opener so that we could try to recreate the problem. I am keeping the original opener and returning the second one as neither will open the Fancy Feast can. They supplied a return label also. There are lots of cans in the world and this is just a minor function situation with this opener. I think it is a great product.

Nice Opener

I had 2 openers prior to this one. This one is a bit smaller and fits more easily into the drawer. It does a nice job. It does not stop when finished like my old one did, but my old one had issues. This one works well. You just need to be mindful to stop it when finished. I do recommend it.

Don’t waste your money and don’t expect support from the company

So incredibly disappointed. I had purchased the autostop version several years ago and when it stopped working I purchased this version by mistake, but as I had disposed of box, I kept it. I purchased this in April and by July I had had to replace the batteries three times. Keep in mind I use the can opener once a day. In July I reached out to customer service and don’t know why I bothered as they appeared to not care one little bit that their product was performing so terribly. Here we are a little over a month later and I’m having to replace the batteries for the fourth time. I have only used brand new brand name (energizer) batteries. Customer service has already let me down once, so this is going in the trash. I’m tempted to purchase the version I had initially, but these Kitchen Mama can openers aren’t cheap and I’m just not willing to give this company any more money if they aren’t gonna stand by their products. My advice, don’t waste your money or make sure you invest in batteries.

Great little can opener

I haven’t had an automatic can opener since the 1970s when I used a standard plug-in electric. But now with a rotator cuff issue, it has become excruciating to use a manual can opener. So, on my son’s urging (because I’m stubborn and was sticking to my manual opener), I decided to try this gadget.Eureka! It’s just wonderful! It works just as advertised, is compact (fits in my silverware drawer), and has saved me a lot of discomfort in opening cans, and works with the touch of a button! Also, as stated, it works well even on the cans with pull-top rings that some of us seniors have such a time with (all but pop cans).I highly recommend this little gem if you’re in the market for a little help in the kitchen 😊!

They followed up, honored the warranty, and sent me a replacement even though I couldn’t provide photos at the time. The replacement works perfectly and the experience was way less stressful than I expected.****Original Review:I just needed a simple electric can opener because I have crippling pain in my hands and I can't use a manual one. I didn't expect anything fancy but for the one job this thing had it still really let me down.This thing is so slow it reminds me of my AOL days. And when it's done, it just... keeps going. When you turn it off it takes FOREVER to wind down. The first few times I tried yanking it off because I thought it was stuck.And then it fully died in under a year.But honestly maybe what bothers me the most of all is when I contacted customer support about the warranty replacement, I got an email back asking for photographic proof that my BATTERIES WERE IN CORRECTLY. Really?(A photo that I could not provide because it had broken days earlier and I threw it in the trash, who hoards broken appliances?).I really expected better from a ‘reputable’ brand.
