These are not solid silicone. They're well made and do an excellent job making the items on a baking sheet non-stick when put in the oven. They're easy to clean (I put mine in the dishwasher) and the porous mats do allow, for some foods, to get some heated air underneath the item, which can be a benefit. The one drawback, which we use a decent amount, is baking cookies or other baked desserts on them. Gooey batter gets trapped in the air pockets, which makes baking a second batch on the same silicone mat more of baking on a charred surface (as the sticky remnants of the first batch are cooked again). Otherwise, they're sized correctly and a good value.
This is a mesh mat. I didn't realize that when I bought it. Not at all effective as a baking sheet. You still have to clean the pan. Not sure what you would use it for.
Love it.and saved me money because i really don’t use Baking sheets muck so I alway thought away but now I don’t have to
I’ve used silicone mats for years, so I was curious about this set. They do work—nothing stuck, they rinse off easily, and the sizing is accurate. Heat resistance was fine and I like that they can be easily trimmed to fit smaller pans. One point to note is that these aren’t a solid surface mat. They have a mesh-like texture with visible pores, which makes them less versatile. The feel rougher in texture than my other mats as well. For wetter doughs, batter, or prep work, food settles into the grooves and cleanup takes longer than it should. It also means oils or moisture can transfer through to the baking sheet. They are good for items you want to bake, not prep work.If your main goal is cookies, pizza, or drier bakes, they’ll get the job done. But compared to solid-surface silicone mats, these feel more like a budget alternative than a true kitchen essential.
I do like this but I'm honestly struggling with the old ways of doing things. It works as intended giving a nonstick surface while baking things, but it doesn't fit right on most of my pans. I suppose I could cut to fit if needed. Baking ability I would give this a 5-star rating for biscuits as it is super easy to use for that. For other items it works good as well. It does have burn resistance but not sure about in a toaster oven so I would just avoid that. Cleaning is a breeze and you can simply wipe in down, hand wash with soap or run it through a dishwasher. I also like that storing in simple because you can roll them up. I would recommend this to have as an option but not to completely replace other non-stick baking methods.
