look at the edges - they are squared off instead of oval, like most tongs. doesn't this make more sense? I've already bought a few for all my residences. Works great for grilling, turning a steak, veggies, etc.So sensible and so worth it!
Worth the money
I previously purchased a 9" model of these tongs and like the feel and the heft of them of the shorter tongs. The 11" tongs are made form thinner metal and don't' seem as sturdy as the stronger 9" tongs. the 11" tongs have soem sort of insert in the handles that do make it easier to grip.
I find that the end grips very tightly. Sometimes tongs don't meet evenly at the end making it difficult to pick up the food but this tong does an excellent job grabbing and holding on to the food.
Exactly how described work great
The idea that these tongs are "heavy duty" is a complete fallacy. They are of flimsy construction, and the rubber grip pieces you see pop out very easily when using the tongs. They also do not have a lock, they are always open.
My boyfriend is very particular about what type of tongs he uses while he is grilling or smoking meat. This is exactly what he has been looking for.
