I’m gonna say that: this is KitchenAid. It is on top as always.
This KitchenAid Seasoned Cast Iron Frying Pan has quickly become my go-to for just about everything. It heats evenly, holds temperature beautifully, and gives food that perfect sear. I’ve already made a few favorites in it—crispy garlic butter chicken thighs with roasted potatoes, a skillet breakfast hash with eggs and sausage, and even a deep-dish cornbread that came out golden and delicious. The pre-seasoned surface was great right out of the box, and cleanup is simple with just a quick wipe and light oiling. It’s solid, reliable, and has that timeless cast iron feel. If you’re looking for a pan that can go from stovetop to oven and handle just about any recipe, this one’s it.
I have other enameled cast iron pans and nothing sticks to them, my cusiniart is amazing! This pan is a piece of junk everything sticks to it, it’s really difficult to clean, the handle is obnoxious. Wish I never purchased it. I am now going to donate or leave this pan on a shelf for decoration because it is useless to cook with
I love this. The straight sides allow for more space within. I especially love frying fish in it. It's worth the money!
This is my first time personally owning a cast iron and overall, I was not over,y impressed. I love that it came pre-seasoned so I didn’t have to wait to use it but I didn’t feel overwhelmed with the outcome. I loved that it’s big enough to accommodate about about 5 chicken breast but the heat distribution was just not there. I had to keep moving my pieces around to get a good sear on them all.The handle was also a bit awkward to use and a bit too broad. I can’t compare it to another but my husband said (he’s had some before) that it’s average. We struggled a bit to clean it up in the one spot that felt like all the searing was happening.Overall, I think it’s ok, a bit pricey but I’ll have to use it again to see if steaks or eggs work out better. Also, how will it hold up in the oven.
Reviewing: "KitchenAid 48395 Seasoned Cast Iron Frying Pan/Skillet, 12 Inch - Black"I've been a fan of Kitchenaid for a very long time. Usually they have great products, but I think this misses the mark in terms of versatility/usability on all stoves. And as others have commented, the price may be high for the actual usefulness you're getting (or rather, not getting). The size is good, and I like the styling, but I won't be able to use this pan for cooking as of yet - because all that is available to me right now is glass top and induction/ceramic. For a standard electric stove, or for gas, it would be no problem. The ad copy says it's "safe to use on all cooktops". It is probably inadvertent, but I think that is misleading. I think they mean that the pan won't be harmed by various cook tops, and not that the pan won't harm certain types of cooktops. The casting on the bottom is very rough to the point that it would scratch a glass top stove or induction, and I'm not referring to someone sliding it from one burner to the other, but rather, those little movements that we do while cooking when you grab the handle and reposition the pan to get a utensil under something, or to add ingredients. This is so rough on the bottom that I think it would mar any kind of glass or ceramic cook top.Aside from that disappointment, I do like that it comes preseasoned. It's heavy, but that is good. Because it's Kitchenaid, I anticipate that it would perform well on a gas, or standard coil-burner, electric stove. So I'm not ready to chuck it just yet, and will look for a burner to use it on. I just wish the listing would have been clearer to communicate that it is the pan that won't be harmed by various types of cook tops, and not the other way around. If you have glass top, or ceramic/induction, I wouldn't buy this unless you plan to use it differently.
Wonderful Quality!!! And beautiful color!!! ♥️♥️
