The size is perfect for either single sticks of butter, or 2 stocks of butter, or the very wide European-brand sticks of butter. It's also perfect for foil-wrapped bars of cream cheese. Looks great, washes by hand or dishwasher perfectly. Also, because lid is flip-top, you don't lose it. Highly recommend.
I was looking for a less expensive replacement for my butterie butter dish. I love a flip top instead of a lid you have to remove completely. I found this one and decided to try it out. It's great! It holds two sticks of butter, unless you want to stack them, which it doable! Or you could use a one pound block. The lid seals nicely, and opens easily. It is slightly bigger than my butterie was, but I don't mind that. I also like the clear top so I can see how much butter is left inside without opening it. Very nice quality and very easy to disassemble for cleaning unlike my butterie dish, which was a pain to take apart. And it looks very nice on my counter!

This is an excellent butter dish. It holds a bar of Kerrygold butter (or 2 sticks, if that is what you use). It come apart and reassembles easily. Its dishwasher safe (top shelf). And it is very durable. Highly recommended!
Really nice air tight quality dish. It is larger than it appears in the photo though. I really wanted one that holds one stick of butter, but I am keeping it because of the quality.
Keeps butter clean while on the table softening and in use. Very easy to pass around the table. Luv that knife can be contained inside protects my tablecloths.
I’m giving this purchase a 5 star. I am so glad I purchased this butter dish. Previously I had a ceramic butter dish. It was heavy and what a mess it made. I don’t even want to talk about cleaning it. The day it broke from a fall I did a happy dance. That’s when I went on a hunt to find a butter dish. Now knowing what I didn’t like in a butter dish I came across this one. It was everything I needed in a butter dish. It’s airtight and a flip open top. It is big enough you can put two sticks of butter in it. It is skid proof too. Very easy to clean. I couldn’t be happier.
