Helps to feed my hubby's cheese cravings.

Cheese for my husband is like cookies for the Cookie Monster - he eats a lot of it for snacks and he's not picky. This cheese cutter (I got the stainless steel version) is perfect to allow me to keep him well-stocked with cheese treats. The cutter is small, so it won't accommodate much more than the chunk cheese you get in the dairy aisle of the grocery store. It won't let you cut large cheese wheels; it doesn't always make super-precision cuts. But, it does cut easily and reliably through common, semi-firm and firm cheese varieties - cheddar, Swiss, gouda, provolone, Colby, Havarti, etc. For my purposes it's perfect. I can quickly cut reasonably uniform cubes and wedges of cheese for my friendly neighborhood Cheese Monster more conveniently than I can with a knife. It cleans up simply with soap and hot water and hasn't tarnished or rusted. Well worth the price for hubby's happiness.
