Great for retrieving pizzas from my outdoor pizza oven and my indoor oven. Love folding handle.
I already have a couple pizza peels that are 12" for my smaller ovens and chose this pizza peel for the 14" size, the folding handle, and because it doesn't have perforations. Ease of use:It is easy to use and the handle isn't so long that it is cumbersome. Thickness:The peel is very thin which makes it so easy to slide under a pizza for retrieval. Works well:Although I use a different peel for deliver of the pizza to the stone, this peel works well for retrieval and the shorter handle make it easier to control and hold the weight of the pizza. I also love the folding handle that engages easily and saves storage space when folded. Stickiness:For delivery of a pizza to the oven, I don't believe this peel would work well for doughs with a high hydration since it would stick to this peel. It would work well for a dryer dough or one that was stretched on either corn meal or seminola flour. Why did you pick this product vs others?:As mentioned previously, I chose this product over others for the 14" size, the folding handle, and because it doesn't have perforations, the reinforcements to increase strength, and the thinness of the paddle. So far, I am happy with this pizza peel and believe it was a great value for the money. If my opinion changes I will update this review.UPDATE 08/13/25:One hesitation that I have when using this pizza peel is that it is more flexible than others I have. When the pizza is heavy, it could easily slide off of this peel.I hope this review was helpful for you.
