Do large jars equal success?

Large jars are perfect BUT me? Not so much. I can see where they are great for pickling, etc. This fermenting thing is still a work in progress for me but the jars are holding up for sun tea and my efforts to enjoy my very own home grown cabbage, i.e. fermented. Love the glass, easy to clean and they hold a lot of cereal in a pinch!

Metal lid is difficult to open, have to pull up

The only thing I do not like about these jars is the metal lid. It is difficult to open and close the jar. Finally figured out that it slightly helps if I pull up on the lid while trying to take it off, but it is still troublesome. Other than that the jar itself is great and the plastic lid option is outstanding! The glass is thick and very durable. I have had these jars for a year now and they have taken a bunch of bonks against each other. I am happy to report that there have been no cracks, chips or broken jars. Great value, design and functionality- besides the metal lid. Good size, actually a gallon jar.
