Our house cleaner loved the matching Nakari I bought for myself but was looking for a larger knife. She was absolutely thrilled when I gave her the Kiritisuke for Christmas. Tried to buy one for myself but the coupon was no longer available so I bought a more expensive one with SG2 blade elsewhere. We both highly recommend the Kitory Damascus series on knives.
Amazing knife! Perfectly balanced!
I’m really pleased with this knife. I’m not sure how it will hold up long-term to repeated sharpening based on the feel of the blade. I have some very expensive knives that are specifically designed to last a lifetime, and this knife does not compare to them in field or composition. However, this knife is significantly cheaper than some of those. I do very much question whether or not this is actually a LeAir Damascus knife like advertised, but at least the pattern is different on both sides, unlike some other names that I have seen. It feels like a stamped, steel knife to me.When it comes down to it, it is sharp, it feels good in the hand, and I do not feel cheated by the quality of it. If you were looking for a entry level to early mid range knife, this would be a great start.
I love it. Very comfortable handle, looks like a "nice" nice kitchen knife handle.Blade arrived sharp enough that i didnt want to play with it too much.Mirror finish, excellent condition.I got this knife bc it had a coupon that made it 40 dollars and it honestly arrived in better condition than the 120 dollar knife i got at the same time.This one was a Very worthwhile purchase.
This knife is an absolute gorgeous addition to the kitchen chef. It feels very solid and is extremely sharp. I actually felt perhaps I should be wearing a knife glove as I am not a professional chef. Cut vetables smoothly and even sliced through a large carrot like butter without extra pressure. The handle is smooth and solidily formed and secured well to the blade. I feel that this knife will last many years at top ability. It come in a nice strong box for storage. The structure and weight is very balanced.
I spent more than a decade working in kitchens in the US and over seas. During that time I used European knives. Most of mine are K-Sabatier.Recently I have been interested in trying some Japanese style knives. So far Gyuto, Santoku, Kiritsuke and Nakiri.I find this shape good for slicing, but prefer other shapes for chopping.This knife came razor sharp, and I think this brand is well made for the price.If you want a good slicing knife try this.
I work as a chef and this is the best knife in the entire kitchen. It holds its edge and is very easy to sharpen. It is a way better knife than some of the top brand knives that I've used. Love it.
