Phenomenal Value!

This 14 piece KnifeSaga knife set is phenomenal! This is our third knife set in the 8 years my husband and I have lived together. We started off with a set of clearance plastic handled knives that we have since disposed of because they did the job we needed in the budget we needed them to be in but were not high quality. We received a self sharpening Calphalon set for our wedding 5 years ago and it's just been ok. So I ordered this set to gift to my husband for Christmas.The knives, while being lightweight, are surprisingly nice! They are extremely sharp and cut through any item we've sliced with ease. This set is even sharper than our Calphalon set was brand new. While we always hand wash our knives, I don't see any signs of rust. Our Calphalon set is just starting to show some signs of discoloration. The magnetic knife sharpener on the side is a nice touch but I'm glad to say we have not needed it yet. We do have an electric knife sharpener but only utilize it when our child is not in the house as she has a problem with how loud it is, so I appreciate a manual one that is much quieter.When I asked my husband what he though these knives would have sold for, the price he guessed was even higher than our Calaphalon set originally sold for. At the $125 that this set was when I ordered it, it was an absolute steal with how high of quality they are. At the time of writing this review, the set is priced at $199 and I would still say is an extremely good value. I know what brand we'll be buying more of if we need more knives!

Didn’t receive the complete set

The knives are very sharp and look amazing in my kitchen. My only complaint was that I didn’t receive the entire set. My order was missing the 7 inch knife. Instead of that one I ended up getting 2 of the 8 inch knives. Didn’t notice until after I got rid of the packaging so… otherwise it’s a great set.

Lightweight, Easy to Hold

This KnifeSaga knife set is a nice starter set for someone and would make a good housewarming present. I am not a big fan of the angle that it sits at, as it sticks almost straight out, and that takes up a lot of counter space, when it could have used more of the vertical space.The 6 knives you’ll use the most are not serrated, so I am not sure I would call them steak knives. Only one knife is what I would consider a steak knife, and it works well for cutting meat. I am what you would call a carnivore, and I know my steak, and I know my knives. The scissors come apart for easy cleaning and they work well. The sharpener is just okay. It works and it’s on hand, so that makes it useful.The knives are one solid piece as far as I can tell, and stainless steel, so they should last for a good while. They aren’t sharp enough to shave the hair off your arm (we all know that’s the real test) but you can always sharpen them until you like the edge they have. They are lightweight and easy to hold. They are also super smooth, so make sure you have a good grip on them if you are cutting something difficult.We cook 99.9% of our meals at home, from scratch. We make our own tallow and lard and grow a lot of our own food. So, we spend a good amount of time in the kitchen cutting, chopping and trimming. I have other much more expensive knife sets, and you really can’t compare the two, but you also can’t compare the price. With that in mind I would say that I think as a starter set or replacement set on a budget these are good quality and a good value.
