Well Crafted and Impressive Knife Set and Holder

Over the years I’ve owned many knife sets. This one may be the smallest with just five knives, but it is the best. I originally purchased the set for my vacation home, but ended up bringing it to my apartment because I love it so much.The knives included are the ones I use over 95% of the time. The only tool missing is kitchen shears, but I don't count that as a loss. All my previous knife sets did include shears - but none of the provided shears were ever strong enough for cutting through bones. I own a couple of heavy duty pairs.The swivel knife block is a great design. I especially appreciate the back ledge that can hold my tablet - which I use frequently when following recipes. The built in knife sharpener is both convenient and effective.Most importantly, these knives are sharp, look beautiful and feel great in the hand. The design and excellent performance makes this set a pleasure to use

I felt these were a bit better than your standard knives.They felt good in your hand,They weren't very heavy and they weren't too light either.I kind of wish they were a little bit thicker.You would really have to abuse this knife to cause them to bend break or crack,That's Just to give you an idea on its thickness...They look nice And I like how it rotates and could even hold a tablet or your phone while you're cooking or you're in the kitchen.I did feel like right out of the box the knives were sharp, but I felt like they could have been even more sharper.You can sharpen the knives on the block itself.I was really hoping the knives would be a bit more sharper right out of the box.But that's not a deal breaker there's still plenty sharp.They'll cut your tomato thin and well.They are priced well for all that you are getting in this set....

I'm so happy with this purchase. This knife block is very practical, the knives are excellent and beautifully designed (check out the pretty pattern in the photos), and it has a built in sharpening stone to always keep them sharp.The set contains 5 knives: 8" Bread knife, 8" Slicer, 8'" Chef Knife, 5" Utility Knife, and a 3.5" Paring Knife.Between the 5 of these they cover almost every form of cutting or slicing I do in my kitchen, so I was finally able to part ways with the many dull knives lying in my utensil drawer that I was for sure gonna sharpen one day.The block can rotate 360° and has a built-in phone/tablet stand on the opposite side to the knives. I LOVE IT. It's nice to have a designated raised spot for your phone, so it's not just sitting on the counter. It obviously makes it easier to work with online recipes, but I also like to use it even if I'm just listening to a podcast or some music. It keeps the phone away from anything on the counter that can get it wet or dirty.The product info says these knives are dishwasher safe, but we like them so much that we hand wash them instead, in hopes to use them for many many more years. Great product, great value for money, I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Good set of knives with some nice extras thrown in

This is a pretty nice set of knives that should work well in the average kitchen. There are only five knives in the set, but they are probably the five most commonly used sizes and styles of cooking knives. That appeals to the minimalist in me: everything I need and nothing I don’t.The knives have a very high-quality vibe about them, in terms of both their appearance and the way they feel in the hand. The Damascus steel pattern on the blades looks good even though it’s purely cosmetic (these are not Damascus steel knives). The machining on the handles is very nice…it’s almost impossible to feel a seam between the steel and whatever material the handles are made of. The attractiveness of the blades and the quality feel of the handles combine to make using these knives a pleasant experience. And, most importantly, they are very sharp. I’ve been using them just as they came, and none of them have needed sharpening.I mentioned some “nice extras” in my review title. I was referring to the way the knife block swivels (very handy), the book holder on the back, and the built-in sharpener. All of those are things you can live without, but they definitely add something to the set. I used the sharpener on some other knives I already owned and it works pretty well, much better than I expected. It’s easy to recommend this set, either for personal use or as a gift.

I Like the Tablet Stand The Most!

I thought the cradle side for holding a recipe book was overkill--until I tried it!   All of my recipes are digitized at this point and I love being able to angle my tablet on this block to have my tablet upright and out of the way, but right where I need it. This carousel-style knife block is amazing.  It swivels very readily and it's quick, though it does stay in place where  I position it.  The knives are nice.  The handles are slender, the blades are sharp and the sharpener is also a nice add-in.  I NEED the knives, but I am mesmerized by the tablet stand I didn't know I desired.
