Much quicker and easier than belt driven knife sharpeners. It doesn't get as sharp, but still quite sharp - a HUGE improvement with only 20 seconds of work!I sharpened 20 knives in 15 minutes (including wiping off the shavings and washing well and drying).There is a specific procedure to follow, so read the box:1. Slot 2: pull 3 times.2. Slot 3: pull then push 5 times3. Slot 4: pull 3 timesThat's it, for most knives. Step 1 (slot 2) did nothing for some of my steak knives.Step 2 (slot 3) is where most of the action happens, so be careful with that one. It also can grab when pushing forward, so I mostly just pulled the knife from hilt to tip.Step 3 is for fine-tuning, and the steak knives needed 7-10 pulls, instead of the recommended 3.
