I just ordered one for my Sister ... or Niece. Depends. ;)
Sis gets 1st choice and if she passes it goes to her daughter at Christmas.This is an attractive, practical and convenient tool for any home kitchen. It comes in a simple, gift -wrap-friendly box. Alas, there are no written directions included for those not familiar with such devices. I will be including a printout of part of the webpage detailing the directions. IMO, not a Biggie. :)It should be evident that this device is designed to be pressed down on a solid surface (counter, table, etc) for use. The 3 knife slots, starting with the one closest to the handle are, "Coarse": Tungsten, "Fine": Diamond Rod and "Polish": Ceramic. The Scissors Sharpener features a single Diamond Rod. Since this Rod is located on the right side of the slot, it is probably easiest to hold the tool down with the left hand and manipulate the scissors with your right.I strongly suggest using this tool for knives while holding it right at the edge of the counter/table so that surface does not suffer an OOPS from blades exiting the sharpening slots. I have noticed while using the tool, that the blade being sharpened will often strike the end of the slot thru which it is being drawn.On kitchen utility blades I have long used quick sharpeners that are setup like the "Coarse" slot on this tool. The blades DO get narrower the more they are sharpened. I look forward to seeing if the "Diamond Rod" slot will keep my utility blades sharp without removing as much steel.One of my old quick sharpeners sports a Diamond Rod Scissors Sharpener Slot. I have always been happy with how well it performs. Using that for initial sharpening followed by cutting multi-folded used-but-clean aluminum foil keeps my scissors dangerously sharp. Perhaps the Ceramic slot will be a good substitute for the aluminum foil action.

Handy tabletop knife sharpener.
Knife sharpener is easy to use, but could benefit from some instructions. I finally figured out the order to use the sharpeners in but some guidance would have been nice. The sharpeners work well on straight blades.

Sturdy Knife Sharpener
This Nuoten knife sharpener has a nice sturdy and well-built feel to it, and the design is attractive, unique and comes in several different colors. We cook at home all the time so keeping our knives sharp is a must in our kitchen. I needed something that would sharpen my knives quickly and easily without a complicated routine. The Nuoten sharpener has rubber bottom too, help ensure safety and that the sharpener does not slip. I really like the design of the handle; it makes it easy to use for any size hand and keeps your hand safely away from the knife when you are sharpening. The sharpener put a nice new edge to my knives that were getting dull. I saw no visible scratches or damage to my knives after using it.The only negative thing I found is that it came with no instructions. This lack of instructions creates some confusion if you are not familiar with knife sharpeners you will have to take the time to look up which slot works best with what material and even if you are familiar, it is still confusing. Definitely something the company should look into – having instructions would be helpful to their consumers. At $26.99 this is a good bargain for the quality and features.

I have never used a knife sharpener like this before, but was eager to try it. I was disappointed that there are no instructions included on how to use it correctly. There are 3 slots but without understanding what each one does, its difficult to choose which one to use. I appreciate that there is a way to sharpen scissors too and didn't realize that when I initially chose this product. I think its a good value but really wish it had instructions. I did refer back to the video on the product page but didn't feel fully confident with just that to work with.
