Kerry Gold Butter’s dream home.

Very sturdy and well made. Since the wood is real I try not to submerge it or get it very wet. The bottom/bowl portion is easy to clean and pretty! I love how wide it is as I’m an avid Kerry Gold butter eater. This is so great for that wide butter options. I also like that the sides are so high when your dipping in and you only have one free hand, you can use the side of the dish to help you catch that pat of butter. If you aren’t a wide butter person, you can put two “normal” butter sticks in at one time. Butter gets soft but doesn’t melt in my house. Great and beautiful product.

KOOV Porcelain Large Butter Dish with Lid, Airtight Butter Container with Oak Lid

It looks nice enough and well made, except more care was needed in making the seal around the oak lid. The oak lid does not seal. I even put a little Avocado Oil around the seal thinking it might allow the lid to seal, but no success. The sealing ridges are not uniform all the way around. Try as I might to push downward on the lid, it does not seal on the butter dish. The lid could fall off the crock when the crock is picked up. I wish there was some way the seller could send a replacement seal or a another lid with a good seal on it. That's why I rated it 4 stars.Update: 1/30/2021 I wanted to be clearer on my above product review. The oak lid is fine in and of itself. The seal I refer to is a rubber seal, with several ridges, that is glued (or not glued in some places) to the oak lid. The ridges are deformed so I can't have an airtight crock as advertised. Add to that I have two kittens that get into everything and they might be able to smell the butter, easily push the lid off the crock, and do whatever cats do.If the seller has new lids that can properly seal, I'd like one of those. Or if anyone has replaced the seal with his/her own kind, I'd like to know what they did to create a seal that works.

Much better than a crock

We used to have a crock for butter, but got tired of the constant changing of the water, cleaning and just the inefficient way you have to load the butter. This works much the same in that it is a great way to keep soft butter. With this there is no water mess. You load the butter in as a full stick (it holds 2) and it's as simple as taking the top off and scooping out some butter for use. When it's empty, it is easy to wash and keep clean.
