[Original 1/16/23] Overall, I’m happy with the thickness and look of the cups. In the right light they can split the light spectrum and give a touch of color (or sparkle). I have not spotted any bubbles in the acrylic of the 22 cups we bought. They are almost as thick as glass cups. I’m glad they are smooth on the inside and outside. I’m still not sure how they make the hammered pattern appear while being smooth on both sides and no air in the middle. The bottom looks thick, like glass cups. The bottom, to my pleasant surprise, does not have a harsh lip, it is rounded off like a glass cup. However, it’s a very deep concave bottom, about twice as deep as our glass cups. On the smaller cups it seems more shallow, but it might be an illusion because the smaller cups have a wider base. The reason you don’t want this very deep is because the dishwasher will fill it with water. While talking about the base, I think the width of the base of the larger (26oz) cups is too small. With this height, it’s very top heavy. Especially since it’s not glass, it has no weight in the base, so width is all you have to keep it stable. The extra taper at the bottom, and deep concave base, are both to save on how much acrylic is needed. So far it as not fallen over on the couch, but it’s obviously easier for it to fall over than our previous glass cups that had wider bases. I would take a shorter cup with a wider base, and only 20-24 oz.One concern I had was a sharp lip at the top of the cup (cheap plastic cups have it, and I hate it). Probably where the seam in the mold is. There is a VERY subtle lip. I have not noticed it at all while drinking or holding the larger 26oz, you can only notice if you run your finger on the outside edge of the top of the cup, looking for it. What drew my attention to it was unboxing the smaller (15oz) cups. It’s probably twice as noticeable. However, even then I would not consider it “sharp” and I’ll be surprised if I notice it when drinking. So far after one wash in the dishwasher, they don’t have any soap residue, water spots or discoloration or warping.I got the set of 8 large/small cups for 21.99 and the set of 6 large for 23.99. So about $3- $4 per cup. It’s not the most expensive, but it’s not cheap either, there are $2 acrylic cups out there (Amazon and Walmart). But for the size and look, it’s not bad. If they last 10 years of heavy use, then the cost is negligible.I think the biggest help in reviews is long term use/durability. On this product especially because you have to compare it to glass. We have had our glass cups for almost 14 years now (4 years of college, 10 years of marriage) and are replacing them with plastic cups because we have a baby. Will these plastic ones last 14 years? Probably not in good shape, and certainly not all of them, because of kids. But I am very curious how durable is acrylic vs glass.
Beautiful and sturdy!
The glasses are very sturdy and great for the price. I am probably going to purchase some more because I need more.
I bought these tumblers last Christmas and they are nice. Light, easy to hold, look nice and stackable. You don't have to worry about breakage. I didn't realize when I bought them but the texturing is on the inside of the glass so they are smooth to the touch, not an issue just a notation. After a year of everyday use and putting them in the dishwasher the top of the tumblers are starting to show wear. The edge is discoloring and starting to get fine lines or cracks in the rim. Nothing you can feel, but you can see the wear. I'm going to replace them in the next few months. I may try a brand that has the texturing on the outside of the tumbler and see if they wear any better. I do recommend this type of tumbler is you want safety and durability.
Purchased set for new camper. Non breakable and colors are fun to use. Easy to wash and dry. Perfect for camper.
I love these shatterproof glasses! Very good quality. Would purchase again.
