I bought it because I needed to use it for water bath canning, but, it said for coffee, milk, on the flyer. It worked for testing the water at 212 degrees. That's what I needed.
Used for air-conditioning duct temperature readings for troubleshooting. Also for checking temperatures in my vehicles on very hot days. Easy to calibrate if you have a accurate reference temperature. All you need is a 11mm wrench to turn the scale to match the needle. Ice cubes melt at 33 degress fahrenheit and water boils at 212 degress fahrenheit as a reliable reference. I checked them all for the low end so I used the melting ice method. If you use them for steaming milk for espresso machine then check the calibration at the 212 degree boiling water reference. They are not accurate at both ends of the scale. The scale face is larger than most and easier to read. The holding clip on the probe is very easy to use and adjust. I order 3 sets a total of 6.
