Very sharp knife..!!. perfectly balanced with a great feel in the hand

The very first thing you'll want to know about this Kyoku 7 inch Japanese fillet knife from their Samurai series collection is that this knife is very, very sharp..!!. So sharp in fact that while I was doing the thing where you show everyone around you how easily this knife can cut thru a sheet of paper, I made the mistake of letting my finger just barely graze the blade of this knife, and of course it cut me like a razor blade would have, please be very careful with this knife.Ok now that I've covered the safety aspect I must say that this knife is really beautiful and is the absolute best kitchen knife I've personally ever had the pleasure of using. Not only does this knife cut like a razor blade, it's also very stylish with a great look to it.The knife is well proportioned with just the right amount of weight that is evenly distributed so that when you pick the knife up it has a great feel to it, which matches the look of the knife quite well.I do all the cooking in my home and I do have some decent knives that I like to use when preparing meals for our family but I don't have anything of this kind of quality and I for sure don't have anything that matches the cutting capabilities of this knife..The knife has a full tang blade which is a must with a knife as sharp as this one is, you definitely don't want this thing to snap on you and lose control of that razor sharp blade, that could be very bad. I know I keep mentioning how sharp this thing is and I do so because I feel like it's really important to stress how sharp this knife is, please keep that in mind and never just leave this knife just laying around, it deserves all the respect you can give it.You do get a sheathe with your knife and everything comes in a really nice box that would make a really nice presentation if you intended to give this knife as a gift for the chef in your home.In my opinion this knife is priced just right making it a great value, but you could even expand on the value by order the whole set which would bring the cost of this particular knife down even further. This will be my personal boning knife that I intend to use, clean and then I'll be putting it back in the original box and putting the knife away until the next time I need it.

Quality filet knife, nice addition to my collection

This fillet knife is very sharp and does an excellent job with fish. The blade has just the right amount of flexibility for deboning and clean cuts. I’ve used it multiple times and it has shown no rust at all, even after washing and drying. The handle feels comfortable and secure, even when wet, and the knife is well balanced. The protective sheath and gift box are nice touches. Great quality for the price and a solid addition to any kitchen or fishing setup.

Crazy Quality - Crazy Sharpness - Beautiful Craftsmanship - Unreal Value - Do Not Hesitate - Buy It!

I'm honestly astounded that this knife sells for $24.95. I prefer to use a fillet knife to trim steaks and chicken and just finished up trimming 9 pounds of chicken breast with this gorgeous knife. It comes beautifully encased in a magnetic flip top box that is totally gift quality and looks incredible. The foam insert is cut with perfect precision (I wish I had done an unboxing pic) to fit the knife and the two exposed tips have hard plastic protectors on them. It comes with a black plastic sleeve that has a red microfiber liner attached to keep the knife well protected in your drawer and to keep you from cutting the ever living bejeebus out of yourself while reaching into your drawer. This blows the factory sharpness on my Henkels set out of the water. This is like straight razor sharp right out of the box and I just finished trimming almost 9 pounds worth of chicken breast and it still cuts like the first time I took it out of the box. The handle is absolutely beautifully crafted and fits perfectly in my hand. The knife has excellent balance and the construction is absolutely flawless. There isn't a single missed thing in their manufacturing or their quality control.I am just crazy impressed with the quality, craftsmanship and sharpness of this knife and the $25 price tag absolutely blows my mind. I can't recommend an item any more than this. Love it. Buy It. You won't be disappointed at all.

Excellent fillet knife, especially with fish

This KYOKU 7 in. Japanese Fillet Knife is perfect for fish. The handle is smooth, even, and easy to hold and to maintain control. I especially like the center decorative mosaic pin which adds to the overall look. The handle does get slightly slick when wet and I had some slippage in my hand but the shape of the blade allows the ability to rest your finger against it for additional support and stability and was not a hindrance for me.The blade was razor sharp and did not need any sharpening. The blade has just the right amount of flex to it that made skinning fish easy. The grind was even across the entire blade. It is balanced perfectly and I used it to fillet, debone, and skin multiple flounder without any problems. The knife smoothly cut everything.I like that there is a felt-covered molded box to store the knife in when not in use. I also like the included hard plastic sheath that keeps the knife blade protected when you have it out and ready to use. The included cleaning cloth is a nice touch.I also like the lifetime warranty. It is easy to register by simply scanning a QR code. I did not find any negatives with the design or use. This is a gorgeous knife and is an excellent value.
