Worth the money! Well made Dutch Ovens

Bought a set of them for the Holidays! Great product, heat distribution, value for money. They are heavy and well constructed. I cook in the regularly, bake bread and sear meat. Waiting for more colors to come back!

Beautiful Dutch Oven in perfect shape, and absolutely no lead found anywhere!

I just received this Dutch oven from Amazon and wanted to rebut one of the reviewers of this product claiming it was saturated in lead. I bought a lead test kit from Amazon (with 60 swabs, about $14, will last a long time) and although I found out some of my other pans contained lead, this La Cuisine Dutch Oven is totally lead free. I tested the inside bottom, the outside, and the inside part of the lid - the swabs did not darken or change color one bit, indicating no lead.I also wanted to mention that I was fooled by the similarity of this product's name to the French made Le Creuset which costs $300 to $500, a lot more than I'm willing to pay even though I'm drawn to high class products. This Dutch oven was made in China but I have no complaints: the product is beautiful, as many reviewers point out. The lid fits perfectly tight, there are no scratches, chips, or defects and it just the right weight (I have a Breville smart oven air which it can fit in, and which limits the weight to 13 pounds empty - this Dutch oven is 12.2 pounds).I plan to make pot roast as my first dish to try this out and it seems to be the perfect size for my wife and I (close to the size of our crock pot). I'll post more to this review after I've used it, but I did want to put this quick first-impression out there, with special mention of no lead detected.

Best Dutch Oven

I received my dutch oven back in December and have used it twice. I absolutely love it! It cooks extremely fast, and it's just the right size for preparing dishes for 2-4 people.

La Cuisine dutch oven

In my search for this Dutch Oven I decided on this la cuisine. It is beautiful and meets my needs for oven cooking and braising. It is heavy, easily cleaned. Don’t use metal utensils. With proper care I think this cast iron enamel pot will last a lifetime. It is ideal for homemade breads, pot roast, chili, stews and soups.

Time will tell - but high temps and "enamel" interior? suspect

"...it is also designed to withstand high temperatures, up to 500°F."is what is written in the description here.In the booklet that accompanies it:"Do not use very high cooking temperatures - this is not necessary"Plus: the interior looks like uncured cast iron. Definitely not enamel. Can I cure it as I would my normal cast iron? I think I will.It does look beautiful, is the right size and I think it'll work out okay. Will change to 5 stars if warranted

Perfect!

I really like this Dutch Oven. Easy to use for many different things. I have used it on my grill and my stove and oven and even on the wood burner when the power went out. Quality construction and the enamel is nice. Nothing seems to stick. It is heavy but it’s cast iron it’s supposed to be. Heats well and evenly. Works well for the money!
