Large, sustainable, easy to store, with multiple uses!
I have been looking for a large cake pop holder for a while, but all I keep finding are plastic ones that only hold a dozen at a time. I don't make a lot of cake pops, but when I make special occasions cakes, I always freeze the excess cut away cake as it freezes and defrosts without drying. Then all you have to do is crumble in a large mixing bowl and mix with just enough frosting that it keeps it's shape when squeezed into a ball, insert stick, coat, and place into a stand until ready to be packaged. This no assembly required 2 pack of extra large wooden cake pop stands blew my mind, especially since they cost the same as plastic, look really nice and expensive, are sustainable and substantially larger! The spacing is perfect for round cake pops and you get a big pack of sticks, plastic wraps, and gold twist ties to get you started! These are ½" wood strips that have been glued together and scorched to induce a natural moisture barrier and to help prevent them from warping, but I would treat these just like any wooden cutting board as you'll have to gently hand wash, but don't submerge in water, after use and will want to condition them with mineral oil (& save yourself a load of money & just use the mineral oil laxative) and to prevent the wood from warping and splitting. They have 2 thin wood strips on the bottom that act as feet for both stability and to help keep the boards from warping. The boards are also large enough that they can be covered with parchment and used to serve dry foods like crackers or candies, or to hold food trays while providing a nice visual touch, as the cake pop stick holes are barely noticable.Unlike many of the plastic pop holders that are essentially box shaped or have to be broken down with multiple parts to store, these can simply be put flat beneath other kitchen storage supplies or on their side as I did with them in my pantry!
