Came across the Lamson brand a few years ago, when I bought an offset spatula. The hardwood handle is very comfortable; well-balanced feel; high quality blade that's riveted to the handle. Whenever there is a Lamson alternative to the common plastic stuff, for a few dollars more I go for the Lamson. Great American craftsmanship from Massachusetts. My Lamson kitchen tools will probably outlive me.
I feels good in the hand. The serrated side of the blade has a bit more than 2 1/2" of sharp serrations making it long enough to be useful and the blade is perfectly flexible. The total overall length of the spreader is just a bit over 8". Two rivets hold the blade and handle together. F.Y.I. it doesn't have a full tang, but that's not terribly consequential. The exposed part of the blade is 3 3/4" long.

I love this type of knife for butter, spreads, some cheeses, etc. I do wish that the blade was a little more flexable. It is non magnetic stainless. As received the edge was so, so. It had edge roll into the gullets.. but a quick pass or three with a round file and a pass on a flat stone that was corrected. The handle is just a touch to small for my man hands and very rough. I sanded it until smooth then oiled and sanded while still wet. Once dry I steel wooled in another coat of walnut oil and all was good.
Blade to rivet fastening system got loose after about 10 minutes of use, but for the price who cares?
The absolute best spreader I have ever owned. No bending or warping, just years of use without a problem. Great old New England product. Handsome as well with excellent balance.
Wooden handle is very rough and feels unfinished. For price, it was very disappointing. I bought a different one that feels finished.
