made to lastthis bench scraper will in my tool kit for a long long time
I ordered this bench knife because I work with so many chopped ingredients and was tired of dropping them off my knife when transferring them to a pan. I was looking for a high quality, non plastic, bench knife that would be strong, last and at reactive enough to leave out on my chopping board. It’s just the right size, easy to use and clean. This is the real deal. I highly recommend it.
My kitchen counter and I have a complicated relationship. It's where the magic happens (sometimes), but it's also where the messes reside. Flour, dough scraps, rogue vegetable peelings – it's a constant battle against culinary debris. For years, my cleanup method involved a combination of damp rags, frustrated scraping with various dull objects, and a healthy dose of denial. Then, I acquired the Lamson 4" x 6" Dough (Bench) Scraper with Walnut Handle. My counter's life (and mine) changed forever.I saw this online and thought, "A bench scraper? Is that just a fancy spatula?" But the reviews hinted at its true power. When it arrived, it felt substantial. The walnut handle is smooth and comfortable, and the stainless steel blade is solid and surprisingly sharp along the edge. It looked like a serious tool, not just another kitchen gadget that would end up collecting dust.Using this thing is incredibly satisfying. It glides across the counter, effortlessly scooping up flour, dough scraps, and anything else in its path. It's like a tiny, efficient bulldozer for your countertop. That sticky ring left by a forgotten glass? Scraped away with ease. Dried-on dough that previously required soaking and intense scrubbing? A few passes with this scraper, and it's gone. My counter is cleaner than it's been in years, and my rags are less abused. But it's not just for cleaning. It's fantastic for dividing dough with precision. Need perfectly portioned rolls? This scraper makes it easy. Transferring chopped vegetables from the cutting board to a pan? Scoop them up and slide them in. It's a versatile tool that's earned a permanent spot within easy reach on my counter. If your kitchen counter is a battlefield of culinary messes, if you're tired of struggling with cleanup, or if you just appreciate a well-made, multi-purpose tool that makes life in the kitchen easier and more efficient, this bench scraper is fantastic. It's sturdy, effective, and surprisingly satisfying to use. My counter is happier, my cleanup is faster, and I'm thoroughly impressed with this simple yet essential tool.
I love nostalgia, and when I went looking for a bench scraper, I wanted one that looked similar to the one my grandmother uses, and ended up deciding on this product both for the polished rivets and the dark walnut handle. I was a little leery at the lack of expense, but the product itself is very well-made, the handgrip is securely fastened by the rivets, the walnut is dark and smooth (although dry), and although the blade came with only a slight taper, it tolerated sharpening very, very well and has held its edge. I would definitely recommend that anyone who buys this product keeps it from sitting somewhere wet or damp, and occasionally applies some kind of non-sticky oil to the wood to keep it nice. (Which you should be doing with all of your wooden-handled kitchen utensils anyway.)
Great product, the wooden handle is sturdy and well made. It is a little harder to clean as the wood isn't coated or polished. The blade is stainless steel, works well.
This is a solid bench scraper but I didn’t realize it would come with the Prop 65 warning - I wish I knew which part of it contains something that isn’t healthy to consume.
