I have paring knives, chefs' knives from Japan, Germany, USA, and France, cleavers, all quality knives--but this knife has ecliped all the rest. I don't even bother hanging it up after washing. It just lives on my cutting board, waiting for daily food prep time.
I bought this cleaver because I had seen it on Bon Appetit’s you tube channel. It is as advertised, very strong and comfortable to use. I have used it almost daily since I received it, for fruits, vegies, acorn squash, and boneless chicken! Because it is an unusual and affordable knife, I plan to make this my go to wedding gift of 2021!
I personally like the knife. Limited use thus far....some veg and a rack of ribs. Did the trick. Lighter than I anticipated. Edge was pretty sharp right out of the box. Will see how it holds up.

The blade comes really dull not happy at all
I bought this knife directly from Lamson because it was not offered on Amazon at time of purchase. The edge was not sharp. The handle slabs were untreated. I asked a friend to sharpen it on his stones. He made it scary sharp and oiled the handle a little. It's a tall knife. Plenty of knuckle clearance. Wide blade is good for scooping ingredients off of the cutting board. Buy this knife if you like the way it looks. Just have it sharpened.
Got this for my wife for Christmas, not super sharp, handle is uncomfortable and the edges of back side of the blade are sharp and uncomfortable
