Convenient size, easy to clean, good value, beautiful design

I was so happy this arrived before Christmas! Quick delivery and beautifully packaged. I can tell this will be used a lot in our kitchen because it fills a gap in pan sizes we seemed to be missing. I love how it can be used on the stove and it doesn’t have a long handle like a skillet, that can sometimes get in the way when cooking several things at once. The handles are a nice size too, so it was easy to move from stovetop to the oven to finish cooking things, even with the extra weight of cast iron. The finish seems durable and the color is beautiful (we got the cabernet). A bonus of this enameled cookware is that the braiser itself does not need seasoning, although I would follow the manufacturer’s suggestion to season the small exposed cast iron rims of the lid and braiser with a bit of oil to avoid rusting. Little tip: save the rubber bumpers that they used to separate the lid from the braiser in shipping. You can use a towel to store the pieces if you have to stack them at all, but we just use the bumpers it came with and it helps keep them from clanking against one another. We made shepherd’s pie in it for the holidays and it was perfect!! It easily went from oven to table and was really attractive as a serving dish. The price was very competitive compared to other similar pieces on the market and I appreciate it being designed in America. This is my new favorite piece of cookware and I can tell it’s going to be a really versatile piece!
