Gorgeous skillet
I had considered this before when the price was 110 but it seemed a bit pricey (and I can pinch a penny), when they lowered the price to 55 it is a clear absolute buy! I do not go in for name brands at all, I research and buy quality. For example I found the pans that are heavily marketed by a certain celebrity chef, and bought one that existed before his collaboration and actually better quality (search for hybrid or honeycomb pans). The same with this enameled cast iron. I looked at the typical French pans, but this matches the quality yet offers more color choices (and the yellow is amazing in person) and is a 1/3 the price. The 27cm skillet is the perfect size for just about everything. I put some oil in the pan and cooked eggs just to test the pan (normally I use the hyprid pan for eggs but wanted to see how it would go). You have to make sure your pan is to temp and use oil, but the pan performed just fine (still prefer the hybrid for eggs). But for cooking anything else (steaks, chicken, beef and brocoli, sauces) This is the go to pan! It can do stir fry, but the edges are to shallow and you get spatter, but the actual cooking performance is excellent.Clean up using hot water and soap (yes, you can use soap it is enameled so no problem about having to re-season) Do not use an abrasive to clean, just soak in the event you do have something sticking. I was concerned at first with the lower price maybe the cooking surface was made out of a teflon material (There is a popular cast Iron that on this site that has a teflon style coating) Which I do not want teflon for anything but eggs and acidic foods. The seller responded asap that it is indeed enamel cooking surface as well. You Can not go wrong with this, it cooks very well, and it just looks amazing.
