Really easy to remove mold, minimal waste ice, and good taste.
I've used the berlinzo ice maker but that was too hard for me to extract and took over a day and a half to complete and had too much waste ice (which took long get rid of). I also didn't like the plastic stretching of the berlinzo. I then used Klaris ice maker which was good for 2 years until i did not want to deal with the consistent machine issues.I like that the naisu ice maker is easy to remove the mold. Then you can also set one side of the mold with the ice as like a plate for the ice.I also like that the waste ice is very minimal making it much easier to clean and turn around for another batch. It being stainless steel makes me much comfortable putting a little hot water to get rid of the waste ice rather than the berlinzo plastic tub.it takes about 16 hours for me to get a completed sphere.Im still not gettin 100% clear ice like the klaris but from reviews it seems i have to experiment a bit with it. At the very least there is no taste of freezer burn like with standard ice molds.I also really appreciate the space saving in the freezer. makes it much less of a hassle to digout the the freezer. The autoejection feature is very novel and acutally works. I check on to see if ice is ready for harvest. Some cons:After testing four tumblers, one was inadverently slowly freezing from the tumber base causing near the ice sphere at the bottom to have trapped cloudiness centered between the sphere and waste. I've seen this issue in a lot of other reviews too. To those getting that issue I believe your unit may be defective and suggest customer service directly with Naisu. They are really great!

Don’t buy if you’re expecting a clear ball!
Very disappointing. The pictures on all the sites makes it look perfect. The truth is it’s not totally clear, especially half way up from the base, and because there are two halves that come together to load the water, there’s an annoying seam that goes completely around the ball. You never see that in any pictures either. Misleading ads!

3 out of 5 stars because only 3/5ths of the ice ball is clear
I cannot get an entirely clear ice ball out of this. The lower third of the ice ball is cloudy every time. I've tried 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 hrs in the freezer, same result. It could be what other reviewers have said about how small the chamber at the bottom is. It could also be that the tumbler, especially around the bottom chamber is not insulated enough. Its as if by the time 2/3 of the ice ball is frozen, the bottom chamber has begun to freeze too soon. This is more likely because I've seen ice forming in the bottom chamber when i've pulled the ice ball before it was completely frozen. The "Crystal Clear Ice Cube Maker- 4 Large Clear Ice Cubes" sold by True Cubes on amazon works great every time, so its definitely not my water.

Very nice, compact clear ice maker with1 downside
This is a very strong clear ice maker. I have used/reviewed about 6-7 of these because I am obsessed with clear ice. With this you are basically paying for a more professional version of the "use a thermos you have on hand" method which you've probably seen on youtube. The downside of using an insulated mug to make clear ice is that it can be hard to remove from the cup, has a lot of ice waste, and makes an irregular shape. This n1 clear ice maker solves this issue by providing a mold shaped to the insulated cup itself which creates 1 clear ice sphere. You simply fill the cup with water about half way, then slowly submerge the mold allowing for the water to move to fill the mold. Then top off with water directly into the open spout on top. Then freeze for 14-16 hours. You will be left with a cool clear ice sphere. There is 1 caveat. In clear ice molds there must be a reservoir below the mold itself that is connected to the water in the mold. The reason for this is that clear ice is made with directional freezing. You insulate 5 sides and have the cold air come in through the 6th, non-insulated side. This freezes the water from the top down, which means impurities/air bubbles are pushed lower and lower by the ice, eventually ending up in the reservoir. The reason normal ice cubes are cloudy is because they freeze from the outer surface in to the center which pushes the air bubbles to the center of the cube, resulting in a cloudy ice. SO that being said the caveat for this item is that the reservoir is NOT big enough. If you leave this in the freezer for too long it will end up with impurities on the bottom of the sphere due to the reservoir not being big enough. You have to make sure your timing is right and remove it before the reservoir gets too frozen.Pros: Compact shape, reliable mold, comes with a top so you can use the cup as a normal insulated mug, easy to useCons: Requires some precise timing to get a completely clear ice sphere. All in all as a clear ice connoisseur and aficionado I will say that this is a worthy purchase.

Great compact ice maker
I'm rating this 5 stars but would probably give it 4.5 for a few minor issues. However, this is a great setup for a single person. The stainless cup is quite nice and has a decent lid as well...kind of cool that you could make the ice and use the same cup. The silicone mold also feels very robust...in my test I just used filtered water from our refrigerator to make the ice ball shown, and it was in our freezer for approximately 20 hours. Overall I'm very pleased with the result...it's not %100 perfect, but not bad at all.My only two complaints would be the price and a bit of difficulty filling. At the time of this review, its price is around $50 US...a little steep perhaps? Maybe if the lid was fancier it would feel a little more appropriate. Also, I find it hard to fill it with water without making a mess. The small hole in the top makes it hard to add water when the silicone is inserted. I method I prefer is to add water to just below where the cup flares out and SLOWLY lower the mold in, adding enough so that a little water will push out the top hole and that can be dumped. It also seemed easy to spill water out if the cup is tilted when you put it in the freezer, so just be careful with that.Otherwise, I'm very pleased with the set
