A Surprisingly Reliable Oversized Tote
I bought this tote to support the ongoing shuttle service between my daughter’s house and mine—a system in which objects mysteriously migrate back and forth with the frequency of migrating birds, except less organized. I needed a bag large enough to handle whatever we’re trading on any given day. This one rose to the challenge immediately.Pros:• It holds an astonishing amount. You can keep adding items long after you’re certain it must be full, and the bag simply expands its sense of possibility.• The handles are impressively sturdy. I’ve loaded it to the point where any reasonable bag would file a complaint, yet these handles remain calm and stoic, as if this is exactly what they trained for.• The material is that rare combination of “substantial enough to trust” and “folds up without a dramatic scene.”• In terms of pure function, it performs like a bag that knows it has one job and intends to excel at it.Cons:• It is not cotton, despite the listing’s optimism. The fabric has a slightly budget‑friendly look, the kind that says, “I’m doing my best with the resources I have.”• I chose the lime green, which turned out to be a bold and, frankly, naïve decision. After one ride in my trunk, it looked like it had been on a wilderness retreat it did not sign up for.• When fully loaded, it becomes a large, geometric object with opinions about how it should be carried. If you’re short, as I am, hoisting it over your shoulder becomes a negotiation.Overall:A dependable, generously sized tote that does exactly what it promises. I’d buy it again—just in a color that doesn’t chronicle every moment of its journey.
