Perfect dish rack for small counter space!
This dish rack is awesome!! I live in a small apartment and my only counter space is about 36 inches next to my sink. So I need to put a dish rack there and also use it for food prep. This rack is perfect for my small space because I can keep it at a small size regularly, and it is adjustable so I can expand it as needed after a big meal with lots of dishes. It was really easy to assemble and took 2 minutes. The first picture shows the dish rack as I normally keep it, about 17in which is just a little larger than its minimum size. Even at the small size it fits a lot of dishes and is plenty of space to accommodate the dishes after a regular meal. The second picture shows it after I adjusted it all the way out to about 23 inches, which is the largest that it goes without expanding the end part of the rack. This is perfect for after a larger meal with a lot of prep work. I’ve never had to adjust it larger than this, but it’s nice to know I could expand it if I had more dishes to load.I purchased the two tier version, but the top rack was too tall for my space. I could fit the rack on, but it came up to very close to my cabinets above, and I couldn’t really fit dishes in the top without blocking access to one of my cabinets. So I used electrical tape to secure the 2nd tier so it could stand alone without the support of the dish rack base, and I put the tier under my kitchen sink for extra storage, which you can see in the third picture. The only very minimal functional issue is that the silverware holder piece stands pretty level, so drainage out of it isn’t optimal. I remedied this by slipping a flat roasting tray that I rarely use under the end part so it tilts the silverware holder a tad and drainage is perfect like that. Cleaning is also a little bit difficult as it’s a bit tricky to clean the drainage trays under the metal rack, but I’ve just done it by spraying some 409 and pouring in warm water to rinse. It’s not a big issue at all, and overall I definitely give the dish rack 5 stars. 10/10 recommend!
