Fun with Ice

A broken ice maker prompted me to buy these fun ice trays. Wow, I've never enjoyed having bar quality ice cubes and balls. I've been using this set for over a month and while the ice balls are unique they aren't the tray I refill as often.The ice "literal" cubes are easy to fill and only take a couple to fill a glass. Removing the ice can be a little difficult, but if you let them sit out for a few minutes, it's easier to pop the ice out.Well worth the money and I the ice trays don't crack or rip.

I love the cube molds but wont use the sphere molds

I really like the "cube" molds and this mold is why I bought the set. Easy to use and creates a consistent shape that fits perfectly in my lowball glasses. The rubber is kind of thin, which makes it super easy to use, I just wonder how long they will last... But only time will tell. One last note on the "cube" mold. They are not really cubes. The part of the ice that goes down into the mold has a diagonal edge to it. Not that big of a deal, just wasn't expecting it. I think it actually helps the Ice go farther down into the glass.I do not like the sphere molds. They are made out of the same material but the really thin rubber does this mold no favors with the lid. The lid is so thin/light, that every time I fill the mold the lid starts to pop off which creates gaps for the water to go through. I've never been able to get a good Ice sphere... It could be me but I can't get it to work.I'm still going to give it 4 stars because the cube mold is why I bought the set and The cube mold works great.

Made out of silicone. Easy to clean.Make perfect square Ice cubes but making circle ice spear is very difficult. Water leaks out of the edges while making circle one.Tip: use boiled water to make clean/clear square cubes like you find in bar! :D

Once you get the hang of it, it’s awesome for your whisky

Once you get the hang of it, they work great. Other reviews stated it was hard to get the square ice cubes out of the mold but hey popped out easily with no problem.Which the spheres came with some short of funnel to make it possible to fill without mess. It would also be easy if it came with a hard flat surface to lay the try on.So far friends love it and are impressed by the spheres the most. I like that they don’t melt quickly so it won’t dilute the whisky but it gets very cold.
