I’m happy with the size and its sturdiness. It doesn’t feel like it’s going to bend out of shape and I like the red top piece. It helps with comfort for pushing down into the cookie and also I feel like it helps keep it sturdy. It’s got good corners. Not rounded too much or anything.
One does not usually come across Rectangle Cookie Cutters this size, but how handy it will be for all the dough I have been years measuring and cutting with a knife, as best I could. First off, I plan to use this for shortbread cookies. No, they will not be this big - but after the first press, the edge of this cutter can be moved to the center of that initial cut, to halve it, and then so on - this will make cutting a sheet of shortbread a breeze. Not to mention, much more uniform, which aids in better baking results. This cookie cutter is nicely made. The cutting side is sharp, but not excessively, just enough. I really like the red rubber coated top which makes for comfortable and secure handling of the cookie cutter, especially when one's hands may be slick with oil, butter, or dough. The stainless steel is easy to clean and is durable for years. This cookie cutter is also a great size for croissants, decorative sugar cookies, iced picture cookies, biscuits, holiday bark, pop tarts, and much more. Current price is a real value.
This is a heavy duty large square cookie cutter, great for making large dumplings or nut rolls. I appreciate the thicker rim on the top for holding/pressing. Cheaper cookie cutters can start to cut into your hand if you have to do a lot.This one is too big to fit sandwich bread if you were looking for cutting off crusts, but one of the smaller sizes would work.My favorite way to use this is to make mini jelly or nut rolls. It would even work well to make mini yule logs. You just cut out the pastry that you'd normally use to make a jelly roll, add the filling, and roll them up. Cover it with your favorite topping (like chocolate ganache) and let them set, then you can serve them up at your next party.
Very sturdy cookie cutter compared to most. This will definitely hold its shape. The cutting edge is relatively sharp so take care and don't let children play with this. I will use this to cut out the German lebkuchens I make at Christmas time. I usually use a pizza cutter but this will make them more uniform. This will make VERY large cookiesI took off one star because the product description says, "VERSATILE SIZES: Set includes 3 rectangular cookie cutters measuring 5 inches, 4 inches, and 3 inches in length for various baking needs." That is incorrect. I received only one cookie cutter. This needs to be fixed. I honestly didn't expect 3 cookie cutters but I was hoping--because of this misleading copy.
I recently started making decorated cookies and wanted a large cookie cutter to decorate with a firetruck for my grandson's fourth birthday. This was the perfect size and shape. The cutter is made of high-quality stainless steel so it will probably last a long time. It's not flimsy. I hand washed and let it air dry and it didn't get rust on it like some metal cookie cutters I have bought.
This cutter works really nice. It cut through my store bought sugar cookie dough. I was able to cut 4 out when I rolled the dough out. The coated side made it pretty comfortable to push on. This cutter was easy to clean and use and it's sturdiness allowed me to make really clean cuts. The size is great, unfortunately the dough I used spread however, I was able to use my cutter to cut 6 out even though the dough was already turned into cooled cookies.
There’s no reason one couldn’t make cookies this size, but it’s the perfect size for cutting crescent rolls. Sooo much easier than fiddling around with a ruler and pizza cutter!The cutters are well made. The metal is strong enough to cut through a dough with nuts in it, and the red padding on the top makes it comfortable to put some pressure on it, much kinder on your hands than the folded over edge of most cutters.
