Love it!! I never want to go back to a cloth drying mat

I love this stone drying rack! I also have a stone bathmat by this brand, which is one solid piece. When I got this one out of the box I was a bit surprised that the backside is held together by clear plastic. But I gave it a chance and I’m so glad I did!It’s a bit bigger than my last drying rack. It also doesn’t have a way to stand up plates or anything, but I’ve been using a flat drying mat for years now so I’m used to that. It drains extremely well, and the stone dries within hours of use. It’s gorgeous and I love how it’s an aesthetic upgrade to most drying racks. It does emit a slight odor into dishes as they dry, but it makes sense that when you bring nature into your house, it’s going to come with some smells.So far in the couple instances it’s gotten a smudge, it was super easy to clean.Overall it’s a great value for the cost!

It's Dye-uh-toe-MAYSH-us Earth.

This collapsible, drying mat has turned out to be a welcome replacement for the old-fashioned dish rack & drainer that I’ve been using. I’m sure it must has to be more sanitary because, unlike a drainage tray.it dries very quickly leaving no standing water to harbor germs. You can touch the mat with a wet finger, and it’s absorbed and dry before you can say “eco-friendly diatomaceous earth” three times.The care it requires takes a bit of getting used to. Despite its stony appearance, the surface is more delicate than the eco-unfriendly plastic we’re accustomed to. Read the instructions- and keep them handy to review. I’ve decided to keep mine on the counter next to the sink for now, it’s attractive and I suspect it may encourage some folks to wash up more often, at least until the novelty of watching the mat dry quickly wears off. I've had a towel under the mat and it has stayed completely dry.Pay special attention to the cleaning. You can’t just throw it in a sink full of hot water and Dawn or scrub it with even a non-gritty cleanser. Simply clean it with a wet cloth and allow it to dry naturally. Accidental food stains require gentle sanding, using the fine grain sandpaper included.I will have to be more careful with delicate glassware, sharp & heavy kitchen utensils, and especially my cast iron Dutch Oven with this mat. It came with a thin mesh mat (but no instructions for it) which I am using on top of the mat to protect the dishes and the mat surface.It will be interesting to see how durable the stone mat is. Until then it’s hard to say whether it’s worth the price or not. So far, I’m thinking it is. I’ll try to remember to check in with an update in a few weeks.

I love this rather its sitting with dishes or by itself. It looks very classy sitting on the counter instead of using the plastic drainer or even a dish towel to hold dishes until they dry.
