Nice looking alternative to fabric drying mats

This is an interesting and nice looking alternative to absorbent fabric and foam drying mats we have always used.So far it seems to work just as well as the fabric ones, dishes certainly get dry on it.I like that it allows for some airflow to get into things like upside down glasses or jars when placed over the gaps.I expected the slats of this to be connected together perhaps with some sort of webbing or rope, and that I would place this on top of a cloth or mat to catch any water that falls through the spaces. However, it has a solid plastic back, which is transparent and not very visible in place on our counter. This looks nice, and we don't need to use a mat underneath it, though water does catch and remain in the gaps. The instructions say to roll it to pour the water out, which would be a hassle. So far the water dries out fast enough that it hasn't become a problem, fortunately.I am a bit skeptical about how clean this item will remain long-term. The white stone looks nice, but I don't know if it will discolor or stain with time, or if there will be any mildew or other issues to worry about. Unlike cloth mats, it can't be run through the washing machine regularly. It comes with a small circle of sandpaper to use on any surface stains, but we will see if that is a sustainable solution.The mat is very large. It fit perfectly on our counter, but make sure to take note of the dimensions before purchasing. It is larger than any standard drying mats we have. I'm sure you could cut it into two smaller mats pretty easily with a utility knife if needed.The $30 price seems reasonable for the material quality.

Good quality, sleek product

Great product, I wanted a better mat for my dish rack that maintained quality after lots of use and this one seemed to fit the bill. Really happy with the quality of the stone and have tested out a few uses, it does dry up pretty quick. Fits perfectly on my countertop and is easy to roll and store away when I need the extra room (e.g. if I want to switch to a dishwasher for heavier cooking nights). Definitely recommend for the flexibility and quality.

Very absorbent and fast frying

This review is being written on January 2nd 2025 in case of future updates.I am using this mat for dishes but you can definitely tell that this map can be very versatile and used for variety of situations. In the product description I mentions that it is heat resistant so you can probably use it when you take something out of an oven to cool or possibly when you're placing something hot on a table and you put it as a barrier. I haven't really tested that but I have put like hot cups of coffee and things on there and there doesn't seem to be any issue.I love the look. It's simple and yet the gray color the natural stone look it looks very I guess elegant. So simple and elegant.The size is very nice. It is not too small and I would almost say it's a bit big but in a good way because it allows for her to have multi-purpose use. It's important though to measure out your space depending on what you're trying to use it for that it will fit. It is slightly on a longer side but the width is fine and should fit just about anywhere.As far as absorbency I would have to say there is some kind of magic in this thing. Just to test it I wiped wet towel over them and you can clearly see in the video posted how fast that it absorbs the water and starts drying.Thankfully I've been careful so I cannot speak to the stain resistance because I have thankfully managed not to stain it or drop anything other than water on this mat. But from the dishes I've dried and whatever residue that comes off of that there hasn't been any stains on this mat.It is important though to pay attention to the product description and for the care instructions. It does tell you in advance that there may be a smell associated with the mat in the beginning and to use a damp towel to wipe it down and over time the smell will go away. I don't think the smell is very noticeable unless you put your face very close to the mat. It seems that the smell comes more not from the stone itself but under the stone there is a plastic liner I guess that holds all the stones together to create the mat and I believe it's the adhesive used that's given off that scent. So if you put your face down there close and smell you will smell this distinguished smell it kind of smells almost like those rubber masks for Halloween or something. I did use a damp towel to wipe it down and I do feel that the smell is decreasing with time.The mat also comes with a rubber liner you can put underneath so that it doesn't move, a small piece of sandpaper that you can use in case there's a stain or rust or anything with the stone, they also give you I believe microfiber towel that you can use to wipe it down. I like that they gave you all the accessories you need to maintain it without having to go and buy the sandpaper or anything else.It also states that you should not let water sit in between the grooves of the stone. So if by chance you notice water piling somewhere just swipe it down or maybe lift the mat to drain it. But from what I have noticed it's very little of that happening Am I just be some job sitting here or there but not a big deal and I'm very short and easy fix.Normally I would think it's a little bit pricey for a slab of stone but all the features that they give you and the versatility of this product does make it worth it and a good value for your money.
